Labconco stainless steel metal cold trap NW16 fitting vacuum pump oven
Stainless steel metal cold trap. It has NW16/ KF16/ QF 16 flanges on both sides for easy connection to vacuum systems. These traps are usually connected before a vacuum pump to capture volatile compounds before they reach the vacuum pump oil. The metal cavity gets filled with dry ice and a solvent that doesn't freeze(acetone. IPA, Ethanol, Methanol or similar) to cool the metal and vapors on the vacuum side will condense on the cold metal. Great to hook up between a vacuum oven and a vacuum pump for example. I hooked up the pump to a rotary vacuum pump and i managed to pump down the system to 18 millibar. note: vacuum gauge and vacuum display not included. These are my own, just used for testing)

Vintage 1954 Arvin Model 746-P Vacuum Tube Portable Radio -- Needs Some Work
You are bidding on a seldom seen 1954 Arvin model 746-P portable tube radio needing some TLC. All Arvin radios are pretty uncommon. But this is one of the least common. It's a 1950's"lunchbox" portable tube radio, the model 746-P. The radio was designed to operate on batteries only and uses four miniature tubes(see last photo) It's a small radio, less than 10 inches by 8 inches by 3 inches. The case is a gorgeous marbled green plastic(Tenite or Styrene, I think) with a gold metal front(see photos) This radio has suffered some damage to the handle(photos 1 and 2) Tenite is a particularly brittle and fragile plastic. Both ends of the handle are snapped off. But the pieces are all there and unlike some plastics this one will take epoxy glue well. So a good repair should be possible. There's also a small hairline crack ... moreon the bottom of the case. But the rest of the case looks very nice(see photos) The knobs are original. The chassis is unmolested and comes with all its tubes. There is some corrosion around the battery holder from leaving in dead batteries. This should be cleaned up. There is a small tear in the speaker cone. But this probably wouldn't affect the sound much. I have not tested this radio. So I don't know if it works. Battery radios are usually more reliable than AC radios, however, so I wouldn't expect many problems in getting it to play. The radio tunes the standard AM band only. This is an uncommon portable radio that does not often show up very often. I have been collecting antique radios and TV's for more than 30 years. I've used this integrated amp with a California Audio Labs DAC(also for sale in a separate auction) combined with Spendor towers and the music is simply bliss.
