Up for auction is a Set of 4. 1945 Carpenters& Builders Guide Books by Theo. Audel& Co. of New York. What a cool set of books! Each book measures approximately 5" wide x 6 5/8" tall and I would consider overall condition to be VERY GOOD. I see no markings, rips, or tears of any kind. What I do see are some"krinkle marks" on the covers and backsides, as you can view. In Guide 1, the pages are marked from 1- 430. In Guide 2, the pages are marked from 431- 836-12. In Guide 3, the pages are marked 837- 1,088. Lastly, Guide 4, the pages are marked 1,089- 1,546. These are all what I would consider paperbacks and Guide 2 seems to be the most used(and creased) Still, all are in very nice shape and very readable. They feature items such as: woods, tools, joints, wood patternmaking, mathematics, strength of timbers, practical ... moredrawing, architectural drawing, foundations, girders& sills, framing, porches, roofing, stairs, millwork, termite protection, just to name a few! This little book is 6 1/2 x 4 3/4 x 1/2 inches. It is in very good condition except for some pencil scribbling on the inside front cover and facing page and the next 2 pages. And there is a 1 1/4" rip where the pencil went through the page" Christine Andersen, February 1924" is written on the page facing the inside front cover. There is a stain on pages 853 that went through to pages 852, 854-857. It is an interesting, well illustrated book for a collector of carpentry books.
