It is in the condition I obtained it with some blimishes and dimpling of the housing and grill. Federal Signal Corporation Amber Warning Light Beacon Ambulance Police Vintage
Here we have a Federal Signal Corporation Titan amber warning light. This one is called the Titan I'm guessing because it measures a whopping 11 5/8" H x 9"W x 28 3/4" Circ. It is model#312. 12 Volts. SAE W3 78. This rotating amber light appears be unused as far as I can tell. As you can see by the pics. The red plastic mounting plugs are still in the bottom of the base and the installation parts bag looks unopened with all original parts for installing this big boy. Parts include: pull switch. Toggle bolts, rubber grommets, wire, nuts, etc and the original instructions with original warranty. The silver paint on the finned base looks brand new. The amber bubble has a slight haze near the top. I believe this happened because of some kind of reaction it had with the plastic bag that it has been in contact with while it's ... morebeen in it's original box for who knows how many years. This thing has to be between 30 to 40 plus years old. I believe you could polish this off if you find the right plastic polish. There is a 2.5" hairline crack at the back of the lens. Near the clamp ring. You would barely notice this once installed on your vehicle. The metal clamp hoop that holds the bubble lens appears to me to be stainless steel looks brand new but has a slight slight haze or tiny oxidation discoloring from sitting on the shelf for so many years. I am sure a tiny pit of polish will make it look perfect. I would call this item New Old Stock and besides the tiny hairline crack I described. Anything else is pure shelf wear from sitting so long on the shelf. I have now doubt this thing is brand new and would work perfectly. Thank you for looking out our auction today. ANTIQUE FIRE TRUCK FEDERAL SIGNAL BEACON RAY # 173 With GLOBE
eBay removed this listing because of the red plastic globe.which as a very thin crack on top) I have taken pictures with it off but I still have it. I don't know how to hook this up to test the motor/lights. I'm selling this guaranteeing it does work. The gasket between the chrome and globe is good as is the rubber seal on the bottom. The chrome collar is in good shape. This would need to be worked on to get it to pristine condition. This is 9.5" tall and 9.5" wide. It was tested just prior to removal and worked perfectly. It is based on the popular VISION lightbar but has been split to allow for it to be separated into two halves- either side of the ladder or bucket. Here is a Federal Beacon Ray Jr. Emergency Light. It is in excellent shape. Both cosmetically and functionally. It is a four lense, heavy glass dome rotating light that is in superb condition, despite being 44 years old. It projects four focused and magnified round and bright beams of light that can be seen from a great distance. It has the original large round bulb that lights(yet will accept any 1156 type base bulb, including halogen bulbs) This light is just what the collector or vehicle restorer is looking for. Here I have a beautiful 12V Federal Signal Beacon Ray Model 175. Chrome base is in excellent condition with only very light blemishes which are too small to see in photos. I would judge chrome at 95% or better as you can see. The base has been trimmed to about 3.5" high. Dome is the original plastic dome with F1 stamped at the top. The dome has been polished and does have a few small marks and some slight hazing from age. But still looks excellent. A new dome would make this light PERFECT and is available on eBay for less than $40. The light has been cleaned and tested and operates smooth and quiet. All bulbs work. This is from Federal Sign and Signal Corporation out of Chicago. Illinois. It is the model 36 Electric horn. It reminds me of the horns we had installed at our Elementary School to warn us of any type of foreign attack. The horn is 110/120 Volts. 60 cycles, 25 amps and has the serial number 7A14M7. It is approximately 7.5" side, 7" deep and 6" tall. I hooked it up to a 12 amp battery charger and the horn still works. The only thing needed is few bolts and you are ready for any emergency. Federal made and promoted these as High Pitch to be able to pierce through traffic to clear your way. Check the different styled large openings in the rotor housing these created the high pitch sound along with a modified siren rotor. Siren grille and Motor finished in High Gloss RED enamel.
