The three(3) Oak Benches that have been there since approx. 1939 have just been removed and are now up for auction. There is a beautiful patina on the seating areas from over 70 years of use. That being said. When we removed them from the floor, they became'unsealed' from the flooring and we can see that the undersides are in an as new condition! This is because when the benches were placed into service, the undersides were totally protected from the elements and with the exception of a few areas where the occasional soda ... moreleaked through- they are IMMACULATE! All of the'bentwood' arms are complete and NONE are broken. All three benches are currently in storage here in Athens and. If won, will have to be removed from storage for shipping. Solid. Tight and well made. Maple wood bench/stool made in 1947. As stated written in pencil on the underside that it was made by John Olsen in 1947 over a 2 day period- March 27 and 28, during a snow storm. This measures 16" high and the top is 18" x 14" My grandparents had a Consider Willets set of dinning room furniture and this looks exactly like part of the set. Apparently he copied the design- thickness and spacing of all the details and made this bench.

The lables are still stapled to the under side. The blue tape was for pictures only. It has a"Commonwealth of Penna. Labor and Industry Stamp also. I do not know the date of manufacture, but I know its old. The top is white vinyl and in excellent shape. It has no rips, tears or holes and the color is very nice. The metal legs have a brass/bronze finish and it does show a little tarness/fading that may polish up, but in my opinion, does not take away from its beauty. Vintage Wood Bench Milking/ Step Stool Primitive Country Style Tole Painted Blue
Multi Purpose Step Stool For your consideration. A charming old step stool made by an unknown artisan accented by a cut out heart design and tole painting. This stool may have been for a child stepping up to wash their hands or a gardener weeding the lettuce. It may even been a milking stool since its past is unknown. However. It has a great future dressing up your country style home or helping a child learn to be independent. My resident expert. SAB, thinks it is made from fir and it was valued enough by a previous owner to fix it when a crack appeared in one of the legs. The crack is still on the inside of one of the legs but does not affect the strength of the stool. It was painted blue but the color is faded and chipped on the sides. I think the tole painting was originally pink but time has faded it as well. One of the wooden plugs used ... moreto cover the screw hole on one side is missing. There is also a stamp on the bottom side but it is too faded to decipher. The stool measures 11 1/2" x 8 1/2" x 8" It is small but perfect for the step up that some of us need. An Awesome Find!

Antique Leather Tanner's Bench Lamp
This is an antique bench that was used by a leather tanner to prepare the skins. It has been wired and a pole added to make it into a lamp. I don't know if the lamp mechanism works. The bench is 53" long and 12.5" wide. It measures 24" from seat to floor and 58" to the top of the lamp pole. The 3 legs are hand turned wood. The seat is leather with brass railheads and the pedal that activates the wood block that holds the skins swings free. We are located about 30 miles north of New York City. Delivery in the metro New York area is available for an additional cost. Or private arrangements can be made for pick up or delivery. Old Early Antique Shop Garage HD Solid Wood Original VTG Large Work Bench
You are looking at a heavy duty solid wood antique work bench. This item has two vises on it. One at each end of the table top. The top is detachable, it also has a tray at the back of it. This work bench has a total of 4 large drawers, and 3 smaller top drawers. It has room for four, but one is missing. The 3 top drawers do so their age and use, they have some warping of wood. Shown in 9th photo. Also one of the bottom drawers has slight water damage on the bottom of it, but still fuctional drawer. This item measures(base) 5 feet x 26" w x 33 1/4" tall/with table top. The top piece itself is 83 1/2" L x 29 1/2" w at widest point. This item is a nice early piece, and even though it does show it's age and use it's still a functional piece. NOTE: This darling item is NOT a toy. Even though it's been a plaything for 80 years. It's fabulous small scale piece of furniture. This needs video to showcase how really cute it is. I fell in love with it the first time I ever saw it. NOT Wicker. NOT Fiber. NOT Plastic. It's woven split wood that's as firm and sturdy as sold wood. This is authentic. A child. Who would be 90 this year, played with this as a young girl. It was her very favorite, long standing plaything that she treasured and kept throughout her lifetime. It has endured rough treatment by a household of children and dozens of friends and cousins. When she was an adult, her own children and her nieces and nephews spent their childhood years playing"pretend" with this cute miniature piece of furniture. To have withstood 3/4 of a century of use, you ... morerealize its sturdiness. Made with the same level of craftsmanship as full size furniture, it has plenty of mileage left for the next generation. It was used as a bench at children's tea parties and at meals, it's that sturdy. Over the years, well meaning people have painted and repainted the piece. The item wasn't considered important. I'm not sure I remember it's original color; I was a second cousin and seldom visited family in the Texas panhandle. The last coat wasn't applied well or with care. I'm not too familiar with paint and furniture but I believe with specialized products, the finish could be"rehabilitated" and returned to its original look.
