I believe it is from the latter part of the 1800's but if anyone can help nail down a more exact date of make/ use I would appreciate it. It is a five step ladder which stands 48" tall. With the leather covered metal bar at the top. Which pulls out to affix to the bed when in use, it stands 65" tall. It is 10" deep at the widest spot and 19" wide at its widest. Has all original carpet and paint as well as hardware. Some expected wear to the carpet but it is clean with fairly nice color. Beautiful American folk art. A piece of Pennsylvania woman's suffrage and temperance group history. Multiple signed friendship/ temperance group quilt dated that it was made in 1910. The names in the quilt and the date it was made are significant because this was made by a group who campaigned for the prohibition of alcohol. Temperance groups often made quilts with hidden meanings such as the crosses within crosses and Irish Ladders here. And sold them to make money to aid their cause. This quilt was made made in 1910. Just prior to the U.S. government's actual enactment of federal alcohol prohibition laws, a wonderful historical quilt and a snapshot in time. The quilt preserves and highlights the names of just one temperance group out of hundreds across the country. Here from the greater Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania active in ... more1910. The quilt is extremely clean and still completely useable. In great antique condition with wear consistent with its age and use on edges and very few intact but torn. Repairable loose quilt pieces. Quilt was researched and found to have been made by a Philadelphia Pennsylvania Woman's Temperance Group active in 1910 by researching some of the women's names. The style was a popular temperance design of ladders with hidden temperance crosses within crosses. Commonly called an Irish Ladder Temperance Quilt. There are hidden crosses within crosses and squares within squares. Note the ladders with squares are not a scattered ladder or Jacob's Ladder design also popular at the time with temperance fundraising quilters. The quilt offered used a symmetrical design to create its ladders and hidden crosses. Six large squares long and five large squares across in a larger double/ full size. It can be used on a full or a queen size bed. Photos were taken on a queen size bed to give an idea of size. Nicely hand stitched and pieced with great colors for decorating. 1948 Louis Marx Toys clockwork Mechanical Climbing Fireman Tin Litho Windup Toy. Detailed tin printed base. Yellow tinplate ladder, clockwork plastic fireman figure who ascends the ladder, with brake, permanent key, some light wear to the ladder edges but otherwise generally good condition. This piece is original. Complete and in excellent condition. It works great~when wound and activated, the fireman climbs up the ladder. The base has a busy firefighting scene with firemen fighting a two building fire. Reads: Climbing Fireman" and has the Marx Toys logo. The overall height of the toy measures 22" tall. The base measures 5" long x 3.75" wide. The fireman measures 8.5" tall. Great addition to your tin toy collection. You won't be disappointed.

Page A nice early and very small Shaker ladder back chair. 27 3/4" tall by about 15 1/4" wide, with some damage to the bottom of the legs, as shown in the pictures. The tips of the well-turned finials are about 18 1/4" above the seat, and the seat is about 10" off the floor. The classy picture replete with a soda can shows just how small a chair this is. I think it is a Number 1, but I'm not sure. I wonder if it was once a rocker- Meader's book shows rockers with two stretchers above, just like this one. The plush seat and webbing, etc. is all hand sewn, and is very old, if not original. No decal or stamped number that I can see. Here we have a nice vintage red and white quilt top for you to finish! I believe this quilt is stitched in a variation of the Jacob’s Ladder design. The stitcher used two different solid red colors in this quilt top which I believe adds character. It appears that the two colors are about equally divided on the quilt. It has been stitched using a combination of hand and machine stitching with the brighter red side being machine stitched and the darker red side being hand stitched. This lovely vintage quilt top measures approximately 80” x 66” It has some storage issues in that there is some soiling and spots. Mostly they are on the brighter red side ... moreand some are probably mildew. I have tried to show them in the last two photographs. I have not laundered this quilt top. Vintage lot of cast iron Fire Wagon and pair of Horses on a Hitch. Which DO NOT go with this wagon. Red fire wagon measures about 8" long, with 2 gold colored iron spoked wheels. The horses& hitch measure about 9" long. All the wheels turn freely, including the bottom 2. Photos show misc angles. Selling lot as spare parts ONLY. Condition. The fire wagon has much paint loss/peeling. I didn't notice any cracks. Breaks or repairs. One of the horses has a broken/missing hoof, with both horses having some paint chips. The hitch has some surface rust, and paint loss. I didn't see any cracks, breaks or repairs on the hitch or horses, other the the one hoof.
