There is some wear and tear and it has definitely been played with but there no major defects. This piece is all original and hasn't not been restored. 1950's Ladder Fire Truck by Solido of France. This un-powered diecast metal truck is made in about 1/43 scale. These Solido toys could come with or without windup power mechanisms. This one does not have a windup mechanism. The ladder rises up with the move of a lever at the base of the ladder. The ladder crank shaft is turning on the gear and will therefore not raise the ladder. With manual help it will go up and down. The extension ladder slides as intended within the main ladder. Lowers, and extends to 46" by turning three different knobs. It has outriggers on both ides that screw down to reach the ground. I have never seen a vintage toy truck as large with as much detail and features as this one. It is by far the best vintage toy fire engine on eBay at the moment. This truck was given to my grandfather for his 7th birthday. He is 67. This toy is at least 60 years old and still functions like when it did in his childhood. This is by far the most impressive toy he has pulled out of his basement. One Original Ladder For Fire Truck Pedal Car Popular in 1950's Boys Fireman
This is an old ladder from a pedal car fire truck. It is in rough condition. Someone left it outside, but the original lines are painted down the sides. One end is in less good shape than the other and the rungs are getting wonky but I felt it might be of value to someone. I bought it at yard sale to support my clematis vine and realized what it was when I got it home. I never used it, this is the way I got it. It measures 27" long by 7" wide. I am going to use a sturdy large flat rate game box to ship it. In all this time I didn't find a better sturdy box to ship it in.
