German WWII Firefighter Dress Bayonet
This auction is for a WWII era German firefighter Dress Bayonet. The blade itself is in good condition. However the chrome finish is worn with only about 80% 85% left. The blade also feels loose, and wobbles slightly. The plastic/hard rubber grip is cracked on one side. The rods holding the grips in place are stripped on one side. The metal on the grip is in fair to good condition, with finish loss and some scratches and nicks. The pommel has a fairly deep indentation on the beak of the eagle. The grip has so locking piece, as the bayonet was not intended to be attached to a rifle. The bayonet is also unmarked. The scabbard has a dark black finish. And is only slightly worn with 95-98% finish remaining. The opening on the scabbard has a fair amount of rust however. The frog is in good condition for its age. R&R Fabrications"Original Turn Out Gear Bag" made in Ohio! YEA! This bag sells on other sites for $57.75 but the auction will start for a penny! The photos on R&R's website are flawed showing what appear to be a full set of turnouts in this bag. There is no way. I used it for wildland stuff and it was great. Helmet. Gloves, pants and coat, chest harness, lumbar pack with shelter, and a few extra goodies. Other guys at my department use the same bag for personal tech rescue gear and have great success. Unlike the other 2 firefighter gear bags I have for auction currently. This one is showing some wear. It rode around the the side compartment of the medic unit with my gear for several summers. No rips, tears, holes, etc. But there are several stains on the bottom of the bag that don't really seem to show up in pic#5. ... moreIt's not dirty(I washed it) I think it was excess linseed oil from the irons that the bag sat on top of. The stains show up as a light black. The bag is in great shape however and I have no doubt that this thing would last me another decade or so- I'm simply bag heavy and trying to clean old work stuff out of my garage. Sew a patch over it, do a cover tattoo with your name over the top, or just laugh that some paramedic named Mayzak in Tacoma paid way more for the bag than you did. This adapter is in good condition from what I can tell. The piece seems whole but it is quite dirty. When looking at the adapter from the outside you can see quite a bit of dirt and grime. One set of the handles on this adapter does have a small chip in but the handle is in good shape other then that small spot. There are actually four handles on this adapter it almost makes it look like there are two adapters put together but I am unable to get them apart. There are no markings on this adapter anywhere to indicate who manufactured this item. When looking ... moreinside of this adapter you can see dirt just like you were able to on the outside and it almost looks like there may be some slight rust on the inside too.
