This is a vintage EMPTY brass fire extinguisher made by the Boyce Veeder Co. The factory was in Dayto n. Ohio and the general office in Long Island City, NY. This is the Boyce Fire Syphon model B and it appears to be a 1 qt. size and is about 14" long. The Boyce Veeder Co. started making extingui shers in 1921. This has been polished and lacquered and has No dings and NO dents. Not bad for somet hing this old. This has a very unusual design with 8 flat surfaces that make up the back side. The wall mount unit. Which has a new coat of black paint has a piece that actually slide through the brass T handle. Whats really unusual and rare i s the the mounting bracket h eld a piece of radium that would glow in the dark. The tag on the bracket states. This is an empty vintage brass fire extinguisher made by the Pyrene Mfg. Company of Newark. New Jersey. It has been polished and lacquered and is DENT free and comes with its latching mounting bracket which has a new coat of black paint. As you can see in the pictures. It displays very well. It does have some smal l scratches under the latching device. I don't think you will find a nicer looking Pyrene extinguisher anywhere. This is the 1 1/2 qt. size and is about 1 8" long. I believe that this is a 1948 model as F48 stamped in the brass at the nozzle end. I have seen this on several Pyrene's in the past. Also by 1948. I decided to bring it back to life as an inside show decor piece. All the pieces are original. Cap, hose, etc. This has been cleaned out and washed. Chicago Fire Department Shops made 4 Gallon Pump can extinguisher engine truck
100% authentic Chicago Fire Department Antique pump can from around 1920s used to current day. May be even earlier not sure. Can is shorter than a 5 Gallon can and holds 4 Gallons of water. Chicago used this slightly shorter size can to avoid hitting the bottom of the can on the stairs. Very heavy duty copper and brass with newer hose and shop made nozzle. Can is in very good condition for it's age. NO major dents just a couple minor bumps from years of fire duty. I do not see any holes in the can. Shipping will be actual and local pickup is available or I can deliver it in the Chicago area for free. VINTAGE W. S. NOTT COPPER/BRASS SODA ACID FIRE EXTINGUISHER
This is an empty copper soda acid fire extinguisher made by the Pyrene Mfg. Co. for the W.S. Nott Company of Minneapolis. MN. It is the 2 1/2 gal. size and stands about 2' tall. The tank is copper and the lid, letter plant and hose clamp are brass. This has no dings and no dents, not bad for something this old. The extinguisher has been polished and lacquered for years of care free enjoyment. W.S. Nott made their own extinguishers from 1920 to 1940 and after that Pyrene made them with the Reliance and W.S. Nott name on the label. The hose is in good condition with a lead nozzle. This comes with it's acid bottle holder, acid bottle, and lead stop. This would look great on a vintage W. S. Nott fire truck. W.S. Nott Co. started in Minneapolis in 1879 and manufactured some of the best steam pumpers of the time. They also produced some ... morevery fine motorized apparatus. This is a Warren's Blazer(dry chemical) Great Northern Railway Company Extinguisher for Hot Box Fires. Manufactured by Warren Chemical MFG. est. 1870. Patent pending. The instructions on the back say to shake the chemical powder into the opened journal box. Or on the outside if necessary. IMPORTANT All packing should be removed if car is to be cut out. Blazer's(dry chemical) are non-abrasive. Non-poisonous, non-toxic. 7" tall. 2 3/4" diameter, net weight 1 pound It's in good condition with some fading to the red color. Up for auction is an EMPTY Vintage Fire Extinguisher Veribest Model 443 made by M.L. Snyder& Son Inc. I know nothing about this but will try to explain what I can see. It appears to be made of brass. It has chips or scratches all over it. The writing on the lable all is readable and appears to be clear. It has some paint on the back and there are a couple of rust spots. It also comes with the holder which has some paint on it too. I do not think it would be hard to clean up, I thought about doing it but would rather leave the restoration to someone who knows what they are doing. VINTAGE U.S. MARINE CORPS COPPER & BRASS 4 GAL. FIRE EXTINGUISHER
This is a vintage copper and brass hand pump fire extinguisher made for the U.S. MARINE CORPS. That's how the brass letter plate reads. It was made by the Loftstrand Co. of Rockville, MD under a government contract. The brass letter plate has the official government name for this extinguisher, EXTINGUISHER, FIRE, WATER DEMOUNTABLE, NESTABLE, PUMP TYPE 4 GAL. CAPACITY" The label also has the"federal standard stock catalog number 58-e-227" On the very top of the extinguisher is reads"U.S. MARINE CORPS" I would think that this was a typical fire extinguisher used at Marine Corps barracks, hangers, etc. This stands about 27"tall to the red pump handle and is about10" in diameter at the top and less at the bottom. This has been polished and lacquered and tested for operation. It has no leaks and pumps as ... moredesigned and shoots water about 20' The pump leaked water at the top brass nut when being pumped. I installed some graphite packing and this lessened the leak greatly but water will seep through when pumping. It has dents, dings, and scratches but as you can see in the pictures, it still displays very well. New red paint has been applied to the pump and bail handle. The hose is in good condition with a shut off at the brass nozzle. This has polished brass 1/4" bolts and 1/8" brass rivets at the bass. This is a sturdy fire extinguisher and weighs 15 lbs. If you have a wood burning stove of fireplace, this could be kept close by and look very attractive. It would give you 4 gallons of nearby water quickly. BADGER Extinguisher. RIVET Construction! I would think this is a highly desirable item but then again, I don't know much about these things. All I know is what my 9th grade shop teacher said- If there;s a fire, grab the extinguisher and read the instructions on the bottom. BTW- he gave me a C- on my birdhouse- think he saw me flip him the bird! and pls note- this fire extinguisher is empty. It does have an empty bottle and a ceramic plug. No dents, a few scatches, more like scratches than scrapes. Handle on bottomm somewhat rusty. Black paint in background of label coming off.
