Empty Vintage Hanging Globe Stop Fire Brass Fire Extinguisher
This is a nicely shined up EMPTY vintage heavy brass Globe Stop Fire hanging extinguisher. They were hung from the ceiling with the fusable sprinkler head down. When the temperature got hot enough the contents would be released under pressure. It is in excellent condition with a couple very minor nicks and no dents. Hand Polished Brass PYRENE Fire Extinguisher & Bracket old truck vehicle NICE!!
Here is a really nice brass PYRENE Fire Extinguisher up for a NO RESERVE auction. Yes eBay it is EMPTY since they removed this listing once because I didn't state that. The tank itself and the label are in nice condition. I'm not saying there perfect by any means. There are some small dents and nicks here and there as well as scratches to the finish. The tank was hand polished with brasso. A tooth brush for the tough spots and Nevr-Dull wadding polish. It turned out pretty nice in my opinion and took several hours to get it in that condition. The label is very nice. There is a small ding above the PYRENE circle on the letter V for vehicle and a few small scratches. The bracket was bead blasted to bear metal. The best Rustoleum primer and 2 coats of black protective enamel paint was used. The bracket was in good condition before all ... moreof that. It had no rust. But the paint was really faded and peeling a small amount. The bracket does have a slight bend to it, a small imperfection in a couple places and one of the holes was drilled out just a hair bigger than the others. The strap, rivets and bottom holder are all in great shape. I always try and give the best possible description I can as well as lots of pics. I just like to let people know what to expect and what your bidding on. To sum it up. It is probably one of the better survivors that is left out there. Rare Antique Goodyear Rubber Co. Fire Extinguisher Lamp. This is an all original copper fire extinguisher from I believe the early 1900's. Made of copper with copper rivets. It has brass plaques on the front the top one stating"Goodyear Rubber Co. Gold Seal 1872" 2 1/2 Gallons. Tested 350 lbs. It has been made into a lamp and includes a copper lamp shade. It has some staining and tarnish to the copper that I am sure can be polished out. Also it looks easy enough to remove the lamp if you don't want it. It measures 33" tall to the top of the light fixture. It weighs over 12 pounds with out the lamp shade. This is a nice, rare all original piece. Please see all photos. With two black identification bands, nothing printed on the cylinder but a lot of printing on the bands. Some of the red paint is worn off and it has some scuffs but I don’t see any dents. The lettering on the identification bands is printed in Greek. Some of the writing is as follows. NYPO BE THP, Tetpaxa. I have taken some pictures of the printing for you. Nice bright photo of early wagon truck on one side. Clean stitching. No markings on labels of manufacture. The bag stands 12"s tall to the top. To the top of the handle it is 19"s tall. VINTAGE PHISTER COPPER & BRASS No. 1/4 FIRE EXTINGUISHER
This is an EMPTY copper and brass fire extinguisher made by the Phister Mfg. Co. of Cincinnati. Ohio and it is the No. 1/4 model. It is the 1/4 gallon size as stated on the brass label. It stands about 15" tall and is about 3 1/2" in diameter. This extinguisher has been completely taken apart and cleaned, polished, and lacquered. Some nuts and bolts have been replaced due to corrosion. This was a carbontetrachloride extinguisher and that liquid was was very corrosive. That's why you don't see may of these restored ones on ebay because of the corrosion problem not to mention the labor involved. All valves turn"open and closed" as when new. The rubber hose and brass nozzle are in good condition. This has a couple of dents and small dings. The biggest dent is just next to the nozzle and this can be seen in the pictures. ... moreAt one time the nozzle was banged into the side of the extinguisher and this left a 1" long dent. There is also a small dent just above the right top corner of the brass label. On the right side, there are 2 very small dings and I tried to get them in the pictures but they don't show up all that well. The label retains most of it's original paint but there is some missing near the top. I did pump air into the air intake valve and the needle moved but it didn't hold air. I did not try to seal all the fittings tight enough to hold air. As you can see in the pictures, this displays very well and would make a great addition to your collection.
