Hi. This is a Simplex 4904-9185 fire alarm ceiling mount strobe. It is 110 candela. This recently removed from a 10 story office building with a Simplex 4100 panel. The building replaced this in favor of 4906 strobes. This was recently professionally tested by Simplex. And I tested it myself, and it worked just as it should. This is designed to mount to the ceiling, but can be mounted anywhere. For coming out of a building where the rest of the devices were very dusty. 1930's/50's FIRE ALARM BOX BANK CAST IRON BANK JAPAN NEAT NEAR MINT COND. BK797
This is the ONLY cast iron bank ever in my collection that was made in Japan! But it is a FIRE ALARM BOX and being a fire buff. It just had to be kept! It was made in Japan in either the 1930's or the 1950's, but NOT in the 1940's because of WWII. Unless in the very late 1940's maybe! Cast iron made by the DABS Company. That number on the back doesn't help date it, and neither do the numbers on the lower front! The iron feels like 1950's to me, but maybe you know? I purchased it in the 1970's and it is not found in the"PENNY BANK BOOK" by the Moores. Heavy and neat and it looks great on a shelf with old fire wagons& fire trucks. It also hangs on the wall, as you can see by that hole on the back. To put a coin in, you have to PULL the ALARM, and that is shown in on of the many photos. ANTIQUE GAMEWELL FIRE ALARM LOCATION PUNCH RECORDER Pat'd 1899 & 1902 EXCELLENT
Up for auction is a Very Nice Vintage and Rare Gamewell Fire Alarm Location Recorder that was used in many of the Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Co. Systems. A Fire Alarm Location Recorder like this would have been located at the Fire Departments Central Registry. When an alarm came in to the Fire Department this unit would Punch a Code into the Recorder Paper that would feed into it. The Code punched into the paper would enable the Fire Department to ascertain the exact location of where the alarm was originated. The Gamewell Fire Alarm Telegraph Company Alarm and Call Systems were the Diamond Standard of a large majority of the Fire Departments in the United States. With the inception of the 911 emergency telephone call system in the 1960's these types of systems were slowly phased out of service. Sadly. The vast majority of these Recorders ... morewere sold to the local scrap dealer and destroyed(recycled) Those that are still around and can be found make wonderful and handsome collectibles. To my knowledge this Gamewell Recorder is complete and original. When I acquired this Recorder over 25 years ago I took it partially apart. Cleaned the parts, polished the brass and then sprayed the brass with a clearcoat before reassembling it. I then mounted the Box on the Wood Base that it sits on now for display purposes. I will include the stand(at no extra charge) if you would like it. It could probably use some cosmetic cleaning, touch-up, and/or polishing if you so desire. I will have to remove the glass and pack it so that it does not get damaged during shipping. So that means the buyer will have to re-install the glass when it arrives. The porcelain cup that you see in the last picture is not the correct cup. The cup was used to catch the punched out paper shards as the paper fed through the recorder. The original cup was a metal cup. I had this cup and I substituted it for the original cup that I never had. Recently acquired from the estate of a retired District of Columbia(DCFD) Fire Fighter. Up for bid is an International Business Machines Corp. IBM) 4030-2 Double Projector Fire Alarm. Roughly 17.75" long by 6" tall. Very cool piece; originally red. But someone in the past painted it white(most likely to blend in better with the white ceiling or wall it was mounted to) however, the original red paint can be seen in quite a few places. I haven't been able to find out much about it other than it's apparantly some kind of dual alarm panel. I'm not sure and am merely selling it as an antique. For Fire/security. Kind of cool old relic. 1924 Gamewell fire alarm call box w/ key (restored)
up for auction is this restored 1924 gamewell fire alarm call box. box#1451 is as correct as its going to get. it has the correct round site glass in the pull door& has all the original hardware restored. the box also has a cast iron finial that has been repainted in silver imron. exactly like the one in this auction 130808676337) we disassembled the box. Sandblasted it& repainted it in single stage PPG product. i we did not disassemble the the call mechanism as it works fine when actuated. the inner box still has the original finish on it. the clear plastic cover on the mechanism is a not cracked but has stress marks that make it appear cracked. otherwise its in decent original condition we have one key for it. the door lock works fine. the we restored& re-used all the original hardware when reassembling. the mechanism clicks ... moreoff ~1451~ when actuated. the ID plate is brass. there is NO reserve on this auction. the opening bid is all i'm looking to get out of this. one must consider my time. This is a Gamewell Fire Alarm Box that appears to be pretty complete and is in excellent original unrestored. It dates from approximately 1916 and measures 18" tall 13" wide and 7-1/2" deep. It came from the North Carolina area and was purchased by a fire chief when the city retired them decades ago. Ho moved here to Arizona and brought it with him and I got it in as-removed condition from him. The inner box had been taken out to unistall the unit so I have put it back inside. The mechanism inside the inner box winds up and runs and looks very clean. The inside glass is intact. There is also a telegraph key inside. There is 1brass plate included that clearly attaches to the front door marked"68" The other plate seen in the pictures is NOT included. There were some extra parts(screws. Vintage GAMEWELL Fire Alarm Box sending mechanism working and in good shape
For your consideration is a very old or vintage Gamewell call box sending mechanism. Probably used in a fire call box. If yours is broken or missing here is a chance to get a perfectly working unit to spice your box up. Face plate has 5 wiring connector contacts and a 3-bolt mounting pattern. The 3 holes are 3/16" in diameter. The(2) holes on one side are 4 1/4" apart. The bottom hole is 9/16" from the lower edge. The single hole on the RH side is 2 11/16" from the lower edge. Entire black faceplate is 5 3/4" x 4 5/8" Depth of assembly is 3 1/4" not counting the handle or front nub. It's a mechanical marvel pulling the front lever and watching all the gears move and the top arm move as fast as a hummingbird up and down. The plexiglass cover is scratched up just a bit and there is a split in the gasket ... morebetween the PC and the front bezel or cover. 9" LIGHT WITH ABOUT A 3" 1/2" PIPE FOR MOUNTING. THE LIGHT IS 5" IN DIAMETER CLEAR LENS WITH A RED BULB. MAY HAVE BEEN FOR FIRE ALARM. MARINE OR DOCK LIGHT. tHE LIGHT DOES WORK AND I DO HAVE ANOTHER LIGHT IF NEEDED.

★★ ★★ ★ 1940's BEST Exit Lock Model B Fire Alarm Bell Emergency Door Lock ★ Don't know a whole lot about this but from what I read online this is supposed to be a neat old fire emergency exit lock from the 1940's. Box is obviously tattered from age& storage. It looks like it was used somewhat sparingly and is in nice overall shape and would clean up nicely. Small marks& wear. Red crinkle-finish paint is still nice& bright. No keys came with this set and though it looks mostly complete. It comes only with what's shown. I'm told a set of keys can be easily made by a local locksmith since these are(formerly) well known municipal-required locksets and several companies(including BEST Lock Co) made these locks to identical specifications to meet government/code regulations. So the lock type is supposed to be well-known. ... moreThough yellowed& torn, this also comes with original paperwork& diagrams& parts lists& instructions. The 2nd spare glass came already broken but will still be included. This lock was in storage for many years. Sold as shown- please view the extra description photos below and message with any questions. Will be carefully well-packaged for safe shipping! FYI: If you were going to keep this lock. I'd use your scanner and make an exact-size scan of the remaining new glass insert and save the image. For a fairly minor fee, art-glass shops can easily duplicate items like this when they have an exact size image- I used to work at a SGO glass shop(personally I restored antique stained glass church windows) and the other staff did requests like that all the time. They could easily stencil& paint the new glass red& white, or stencil& etch(sandblast) then paint it, or if the shop does SGO(look up SGO Stained Glass Overlay- a type of colored and/or graphics-lettered plastic window-tint) they could easily print the scanned image onto white& red plastic and easily adhere it to the glass.
