This is an interesting vintage woodcut engraving titled"Fire Alarm Bell and Iron Tower. New York. The engraving is in very good condition and was published in Gleason's Pictorial Drawing Room Companion. An illustrated newspaper out of Boston, Ma. on September 27, 1851. The print is accompanied by an article describing the giant cast bell made by N.H. Hooper& Co. that weighed in at over 21.000 lbs. The Iron Tower shown here was over 100 ft tall and was located in Thirty-third Street in, I assume, lower Manhattan. Henry Northey Hooper(1799– 1865) was a preeminent 19th century American manufacturer and merchant of decorative lighting. Civil War artillery, and bells and chimes. He was a Boston politician and foundry owner and in his firm he cast the first life-size bronze statue in the United States. Born in Manchester. BRASS HOLTZER CABOT 110 VOLT FIRE ALARM HORN
This is a restored vintage fire alarm horn made by the Holtzer Cabot Elec. Co. It is 110 volt and it works great and is very loud. It is heavy and weighs 10 lbs. The horn is brass and the housing is cast iron. It stands about 7 1/2" tall and is 5" in diameter at the horn end. Antique Fire Emergency Cast Iron Alarm Bell The best I can tell. COMPETITION' is the name on back casting. Whole assembly 12" Bell itself 8" The wiring has be rigged to attach at coils. I put 12 volts. Using battery charger, on it. It dings, or pulls clapper, but does not return back out. This bell was removed from a hotel. That was built in 1898, then added to, in 1904. It seemed to be original equipment, plaster was unpainted behind. The building was piped for gas lighting and modern knob and tube at the time of construction. The tubes were pottery, not porcelain. It measures about 16 ¾” at the tallest. 12 ½” wide at the widest, and 5’ deep. The number stamped on it is“1353. It is also stamped. Patented January 1924. I do not have the key. For Sale I have a"The Super Bawl" Fire Bawl 2 Alarm Wah in Excellent Condition. I've had this for years but really never used it so it sat on a shelf collecting dust. Time to let someone else enjoy it! This seems to be different from the other Fire Bawl wahs that only have a volume control and thats it. This is really a great pedal with some really cool features unlike what you would normally run across. It functions perfectly and and looks great. Cosmetically it barely has a scratch if any and could probably pass as new in my opinion. CONTROLS:ON/OFF Switch(under toes) ~ No Explanation Needed Twinductor Switch(above Toes) ~ OFF position Activates only one inductor for a normal Wah effect and one Dog Eye LED lights up.
