Rare Hard To Find 28" Gulf Sign With Original Frame And Ballast
Very hard to find 28 inch Gulf Sign in nice condition. This comes with the sign. The ballast(which is untested) and the metal frame. The only things needed to complete this sign are the bracket and one fluorescent bulb! My uncle owned a station and this sign was lit in his garage as recently as 3 months ago. This will be a very easy sign to light up and bring back to the original state! There is a hole in the metal frame as pictured. Vintage Lighted Outdoor Pole Mount Pay Phone Telephone Sign. No Ballast
Up for auction is this old outdoor telephone Pay Phone sign. I found the ballast is ruined so I removed it from the compartment. I figured the shipping weight saved would allow a new owner to purchase ballast locally. I left the U shaped bulb in the sign. Not knowing if it works or not. The sign is designed to be pole mounted. At one time or another someone added by decal a phone number. The years of exposure and perhaps someone tried to remove the decals have left a shadow of the number. I believe they could be removed or left as testament to this signs career. The sign itself is 20” square and about 6”deep. Add another 8“for the electrical box so one dimension would be 28” wide. I believe the photos do a better job of describing the item and will give you a sense of the condition. Please note. As my seller name implies, I am a miner. I ... moredo not spend much time cleaning or repairing the items I sell. I may wipe off the heavy layers for the photos and that’s about it. Here's a vintage Ballantine Beer lighted sign that dates to 1960 that's being sold"as is" it DOES light. But cannot maintain a steady brightness; I believe it has a problem with the fluorescent fixture's ballast. Every 10 or so seconds it goes mostly dark(photos 2& 3) then back to full strength. I don't have a spare ballast for it, so am just selling it"as is" with acknowledged problem with light. Other than the fluorescent problem, it's a very nice and clean sign, which great graphics and bold, vibrant colors. A couple yellow marks to right side is only flaw. Front is plastic; back is metal.
