1965 Ludwig Club Dates- Black Lacquer Some killer Club Dates up for grabs! Warm and fat as you would expect in the sound department though I would call these“player’s condition” in terms of cosmetics-mostly because there are a lot of scrapes/nicks on the finish. However. Most of these have been touched up by a previous owner. At a distance(and definitely under stage lights) you would have no idea though. Here’s the breakdown: 14×20: edges good. Interior pretty clean. One of the hoops has a crack as pictured but it isn’t split in pieces. Has an Aquarian Super Kick head on it and sounds killer. Eight of the sixteen tension rods are replacements. 14×14: edges good. Interior pretty clean. Has the“clip” style leg brackets. 6 lugs but still tunes/sounds great. 8×12: edge a little roughed up on the bottom and the interior is not as ... moreclean as the other drums. Still sounds good though. 5×14: nice edges and very clean interior. Don’t let the six lugs fool you…this baby pops! Hardware included: floor tom legs. Bass drum cymbal arm(not pictured) and rail mount(a bit rusty and scuffed but functional) Despite some of the cosmetic issues this set still is an eye turner and a joy to play. VINTAGE 1967 LUDWIG CLUB DATE BLUE OYSTER PEARL RINGO 20, 12, 14 DRUM SET
For auction is a 1967 Ludwig Club date kit in BLUE Oyster Pearl finish. I have owned this kit since the late 80's and have kept it in cases when not being played. This is what I can tell you about this great little kit. Sizes are standard Ludwig sizes from this era: 14"x 20" bass drum. 8"x 12" mounted tom and 14"x 14" floor tom. I would say that the chrome is in very good shape(better than average shape for a kit of this age) with some light wear. There is some very light rust and scratching on the hoops, the last picture is of the bottom floor tom hoop and is by far the roughest. The original Blue Oyster Pearl wrap is also in excellent shape. There is some scratching next to the badge on the 12" tom(see picture 4) There is also a small ding and small scratching on the back of the 12" and a small ... morelift in the seam(see picture 11) This is the original wrap and is consistent in coloring(any variety is due to the camera) and tight, with the exception of the the aforementioned spot on the 12" I have not reglued the small lift on the 12" and will leave that to the buyer as people can be particular about what they use to reglue. I sanded and resprayed the original bass drum hoops, there is no inlay. The bass drum has 2 extra holes in the shell and I am unclear if these were factory or not(see picture 5) All toms have Coated Evans single ply heads on top and bottom with only about 15 hours of play time on them(mostly light jazz) The bass drum has a coated Powerstroke 3 on the batter side with a new reproduction Ludwig logo head on front. All lugs, mufflers, spurs, legs and additional hardware is intact and is original to this kit. I cannot vouch for all hoops and tension rods on toms. Tension rods and bass drum hoops are original to this kit. I also have the original Ludwig script tom mount for the bass drum and will put it back on if buyer desires, if not I will just send it along with the kit. You are bidding on a used mid 90's Pearl Masters Studio Birch shell kit in a white/opal lacquer finish. Sizes are 16" X 20" kick. 12" X 14" 10" X 12" 10" X 10" and 8" X 8" toms. There are 2 TH-98 short arms w/ clamps and 2 TH-2000 long tom arms. These are the first run Birch Masters shells with reinforcement rings. This is in good overall condition with light cosmetic wear on the finish. There is a noticable nick on the front of the 8" and a few other dents/dings here and there. The only other issue with these is. That as happens with white, parts of the lacquer have faded/ yellowed some. You can see it more on the left side of the kick and the lower 2 toms. As you can see it isn't terribly noticable from a few feet away but the variation is definately there. Gorgeous 1965 Ludwig 3-PC WMP Downbeat Drums 20,14,12
Open to International Bidders! This No Reserve auction. Is for a matched set of three Ludwig"Classic" series drums. This kit was called the" Downbeat" outfit. I have the matching Ludwig WMP snare drum that came with this kit, it is currently up for sale on e-bay. Please see my other auctions to see it. Sizes are; 14" deep x 20" wide bass drum( serial# 200663. 14" deep x 14" wide Floor Tom( serial# 206971) 8" deep x 12" wide Mounted Tom( serial# 198298) All three shells are constructed out of three plies of wood( mahogany/poplar/mahogany) and have solid maple interior support rings. The insides of all three drums are factory painted in Ludwig white"Resocoat" enamel. There are no date stamps on any of the drums. But the six digit serial number indicate an approximate manufacturing ... moredate of 1965. The snare drum, which is being sold seperately, has a date stamp of" SEP 18 1965" The exteriors of all three drums are factory wrapped in factory original Ludwig White Marine Pearl. The pearloid covering is beautifully preserved. But it is slightly yellowed with age. There are no signs of surface scratches and wear marks in the finish of each drum, and the white pearl finish is extremely glossy and clean. The Bass drum is factory equipped with 16 Classic lugs. Two Classic folding BD spurs and brackets, 16 T-rods& claws, a Ludwig cymbal mounting bracket complete with a generic model L-arm cymbal holder, and a Ludwig rail consolette. The rail consolette tom holder was originally mounted in a lower position on the shell. But it was moved to the top of the bass drum shell. Only two small holes were drilled into the shell to make this move. The two original lower mounting screw holes are still visible( see picture) This modification must have been carried out within hours of the drum being made, because there are no impressions or fade in the original location. Yamaha Marching Bass Drum 20" x 14" scuffs and scrapes
This is a USED Yamaha marching Bass drum that measures 20" diameter across the head and about 14" deep. The Yamaha label and name tag stickers have been removed and you can see the outline of the word YAMAHA. We do not know the exact model of this unit. Both heads are intact but one has a star marked on it in pen. It did not come off with water but a different solvent may work. We are just not familair with drums to know what cleaner would be best to try without damaging the head. The shell is intact with scuffs and scrapes from handling and use. Some of the chrome plating on the claw hardware is peeled off. You get what you see so look closely at the photos. Beautiful Premier Signia drumset in Inverness green. 20/12/14 jazz sizes with brand new Fiberskyn heads. Evans Emad on back of kick. Nice clean condition. Bass drum has Genista Rok-lock style bass drum legs, floor tom has Genista style floor tom legs and mounts, and the mounted tom has some kind of tom mount. I don't think these were original, assuming they were added at time of purchase or later. That's the way I bought them. Kind of a nice feature if you didn't like the original Signia mounts. Here is a Vintage Slingerland 20" x 14" Bass Drum Shell with the Original Badge. Badge Serial Number is 241135. It has the Original Silver Sparkle Pearl Wrap that is in really good shape. There is some scuffs. But not bad at all. The yelow you see in the pic on the sides of the drum are reflections, not fading. There is some overall light fade, but again, not bad at all. It has the re-rings and there is some lifting/bubbling on the ply mostly directly under the re-rings as you can see. Nice old shell that needs restoration. NO extra holes. Heavy when Packed. Dimensions: 28" x 14" kick(s/n 1215700) 20" x 18" floor tom(s/n 1215628) 15" x 12" rack tom(s/n 1212241) 14" x 10" rack tom s/n 1215605) Kick drum is equipped with a tom mount clamp. Which originally held a Ludwig double spiked, ball joint tom mount(not included) To be honest, the height of the kick drum made mounting the toms this way seem impractical, and I found that a snare stand is the way to go for mounting a rack tom with this kit. Kick beater head is from the 70s, still has lot of life left. There are NO EXTRA HOLES OR MODIFICATIONS! All drums have white interiors. Bearing edges are stock and no issues. Bass drum has a very small ding in the finish shown in pic 12. Tees and Claws show some chrome loss and 4 of the 16 are DW replacements that are on the bottom of bass drum with tension rods instead of tees. Hoop inlay is missing on the batter side hoop. Floor tom legs show chrome loss. All in all a very nice example of the non molested Camco set in the right sizes. Sold as/is with no returns unless I so badly misrepresent an item. Up for auction is this vintage Ludwig power tom. This drum is 13" tall and the head size is 14" It is a 6 ply maple shell. No re-rings. The drum is in good shape but there are some nicks in the wrap and a small bit of gig rash on the lugs. The Ludwig badge has some scratches also. Chrome is good. With some minor pitting. I believe it will clean up nice. The interior is nice and the bearing edges are in good shape. Looking at this drum from a project perspective. The individual components are worth the starting price of this drum. Twenty(20) large classic lugs, modular mount and top/ bottom hoops are well worth the price. This drum comes with a brand new. Included in this auction are an 14" x 20" bass drum(serial number 196652) An 8" x 12" tom tom(serial number 196826) a 14" x 14" floor tom(serial number 196633) The drums are all in very good condition, with some normal sign of wear. Notable flaws are: no tom"L" arm and no mounting clamp on the rack tom. Like many drummers, I put the tom on a stand when the clamp started stripping and never looked back. All the lugs are in good condition, with some, but very little pitting/rust. The hoops and shells(white interior) are nice and the drums sound great. The bass drum hoops were replaced with metal hoops at some point, but I do have ONE of the original hoops(functional, but clearly ... moreused condition) and it is included here. I can't tell you with certainty what color these drums are, but if I were forced to say, I would suggest that they were silver sparkle, but they have yellowed to almost a pale chartreuse color. The wingnut on the cymbal arm top is gone, there is a non-original locking nut in its place. There are no stands, pedals or snare included with this kit. NOS Shimano 6 speed 14-32 Hyperglide Freewheel RARE 14-17-20-24-28-32 Half Step
Here's a Shimano Hyperglide 6-speed multiple freewheel in rare 14-32T range. Shimano no longer makes a 6-speed freewheel with this gearing. The freewheel is brand new. Never mounted or ridden. It ratchets backwards smoothly when spun in my hand. When rotated the opposite direction, the internal pawls catch securely. The cog sizes are 14-17-20-24-28-32. Which is a very wide gear range for just about any terrain. Cogs have a nice even spacing, 3 teeth apart on the high end; 4 teeth apart on the low end. Great for mountain bikes, touring, or increasing your gear range. Can be used with single, double, or triple cranks. This freewheel is full Hyperglide. By using a lockring to hold all of the cogs in place. All cog positions are fixed with respect to each other for the best shifting. Modern cassettes use this configuration, so this freewheel ... morewill have the same superior shifting as a cassette. Hyperglide is Shimano's most recent technology and shifts wonderfully, even under load, due to the advanced ramps and shaped teeth on the cogs. These differently shaped teeth and ramps are not defects or wear. They are part of the technology that makes Shimano's freewheels shift so nicely. The freewheel is brand new, never used or mounted. Designed for 6-speed Shimano indexing. It will also index well with 6-speed SunTour drivetrains. SunTour's spacing is slightly different. But close enough to work well with proper adjustment. Of course, it will work perfectly with any friction shifting system. In fact, friction shifting will be improved over the old freewheels since the features that make indexing possible improve shifting all around. Uses a standard Shimano freewheel puller to remove. The Shimano splined pattern is the current freewheel standard. Thus the tool is readily available. It is part number FR-1 for Park Tools, but is available from other manufacturers as well. Up for auction is a really nice Premier blond finished drum kit that requires a little explaining. Sizes are 20 kick. 10/12/14 rack toms and 70's Olympic 5.5x14 snare. The three 10/12/14 rack toms are factory matched clear blond toms. Each with a dual P-badge air vents. Not sure which series, but these toms have the classic long Premier lugs and look/sound wonderful. The bass drum is and APK model from the 90's that has been refinished with birch veneer to match the toms. The sheen/gloss is not the same. However the color tone matches nicely. The snare is an Olympic series from the early to mid 70's with a 3-ply mahogany shell with beech re-rings. The snare has also been refinished in birch veneer to match the toms. Up for auction is a very old doll quilt made of flannel or flannelette. I can just picture a mother fashioning this 14 ½ X 20 inch quilt for her little girl’s doll out of left-over flannel. One side is one whole piece of fabric and the other side is pieced in 5 sections. It is hand tied with coral colored floss. I have taken pictures indoors and out. In natural light to try to give you a true color. The background is gray with a cream print, which actually looks more ecru than cream. There are some age"shadows" more than spots, which some people say gives age character) but they are not pronounced as the print is more of an ecru color than what shows in the photos. 1970 Ludwig 14 x 20 Silver Sparkle Bass Drum with rail mount
1970 Ludwig silver sparkle bass drum. Badge#868370, 14 x 20 with rail mount. It is in very good condition. It has not been cleaned, a little pitting on the chrome, the rail mount has some rust, seams are near perfect. The hoops have been lightly sanded, primed and repainted about 10 years ago when I last put new heads on, they are Aquarian super kick heads, the batter head is dented a little where the beater makes contact, it had an impact pad which I peeled off, it was heavily worn in the center and left a discolored mark where it had been. The silver sparkle inserts were not removed when repainted, they were taped off, original staples still intact. The batter hoop has pedal marks and a wear mark from the snare stand. Has an even ginger ale fade to the sparkle finish with no scratches, rub rashes or flaws in the finish, it is almost perfect. ... moreIt is complete with all hardware including the wrench for rail and tom mounts. The interior is natural 3 ply maple with reinforcing rings showing no signs of separation. There are just a few small nicks and scratches in the bottom of the interior from the bass drum mic and stand being kicked and knocked over by the singer. Couldn't get them to show up in a photo. Adding photos of the pedal wear on the batter hoop. Front resonant hoop has a couple very tiny nicks in it also. Some of the claws are beginning to show a little rust and the outer ends of the T rods show wear from sliding around in a case with no padding. I used to put it in my 22" case, guess I should have wrapped it up before going into the case. Keep the questions coming! No extra holes or modificatons.
