The lamp part is telescopic and extends to 41" from the end of the metal lamp shade to the swivel part of the arm on the base. When fully extended. Height is 78" from floor to top of shade. There's a little metal wheel where the base arm meets the telescopic arm that won't turn. It probably could with a little work. The lamp is a little dirty and needs a good cleaning. The shade is slightly bent in one section on the outer edge. It will be disassembled from the base for shipping. Fantastic gold recovery system that is light weight and very portable. It has a 12 inch x 36 in barrel in 1/2 inch mesh. OK here we go. I believe this came off a pre war Chris Craft 26 footer that was on Lake Erie near Dunkirk NY. I was told it was dated to the 1930's or earlier but I haven't recieved the ID tags for the boat so I can't be sure. The handle says PORTABLE LIGHT CO. NYC and is missing the rubber. Looks to me that it is chrome plated and it needs some attention. The light has a dent on one side and some corrosion where the dent is. The lenses 7" accross and looks good and the bulb is inside and loose. Total length is roughly 21" It has wiring but looks newer than what may have been original. I am not sure about the nuts. Bolts and hardware. It looks like it needs reattached on the top fulcrum? and I believe the shaft may slide inside of the hardware. This is an old RR safety or caution flasher. Someone said it was a Western Electric D flasher, made by Julian McDermott in Ridgewood, NY. It uses five 45 volt batteries for about 230 volts DC. Wow, that's a heck of a light! The light is held in place by a spring loaded cotter pin, so it can be removed from the base and placed away from the unit up to the length of the coiled cord. Probably WW II(it's got an olive drab colored carrying strap) or a little later vintage, I think they phased out those 45 volt batteries by the late 50's. Weighs a chunky 33 lbs.
