So today I was trying to disconnect the light from cord from the battery pack and my light suddenly stopped working. I twisted the attachment thing a few times and the light flickered on. The connector to the battery pack is now freely moveable around. I believe(but do not guarentee) that the light still works and it is the battery pack that does it fact not work. Regardless. This is a SheerVision SV Sport Surgical Loupes Glasses. Flip up style. Older model. Copyright date in the manual is from 2000. It did not say what the optical power is on these? Comes with optional LED light attachment and two rechargeable NiMH batteries. From storage of a medical center that went out of business. Has some issues/damage. Read details below before bidding. Cosmetics-Headset part is clean overall. Looks like they were generally well taken care of. The protective clear glass part attached to the frames is clean. The loupes have some dust. A few hazy spots, and some coating loss/fine scratches from cleaning. Nothing I noticed much looking through them. I found it difficult to get them in the right alignment using the controls but I am not a medical person. Both do have some glue added to the mounts where the loupe screws attach ... moreto the bracket. Maybe to firm up some cracks? See photo. So they don't hold as tight in position as they should. Probably best for someone who already uses this series and knows how to properly set these up or maybe replace some parts. Included battery packs for the lights both have a couple corner chips and cracks. Also some corrosion on the body screws. The LED light has a couple impact stress cracks near the edge of the glass. See lots of photos of what you are getting. Operational Condition-LED light works. Both battery packs seem to hold a good charge. I ran the light on each pack and both were going strong after an hour. Untested longer than that. I did notice one thing on the packs. The top control knob adjustments did not change the intensity of the light. If you turn the controls on either pack the light just stayed the same brightness. Hello. My name is Stephen and I currently have 105, 100% perfect feedbacks. I have had these loupes for over a year yet the vast majority of time they have been in a plastic storage cabinet all by their lonesome. I paid over $360 for them from a dental surgical supply manufacturer in China. I have never found any fault with them. They have amazing glass and just plain work very, very well. My own vision has gone down hill for hereditary illness so I decided to sell them. I now use a LCD loupe on my camera. Huge magnifiers under expensive light fixtures and a 32" 1080p television as my computer monitor. And sculpt in larger forms, so I am doing just fine but using these surgical loupes is for me not as productive as it used to be. Someone should be enjoying them. They don't belong in a cabinet, they belong on someones head. If you ... morenever worked with these type of telescopes you would do well to understand that the 2.5X are much easier to work with than the 4X. So practice with them first for a month or so as the working distance is more generous. Both takes some practice but after a while it becomes second nature with either, you will instinctively move the work or your head to the optimum distance for greatest clarity. The greatest value in such tools is that you are viewing the work from a comfortable distance without eyestrain and actually seeing the vine details whether you are carving small details or looking for imperfections in the work you have already done, in another words quality control. Depending on your particular set of eyes the distance will be slightly different the the next person. The 2.5X are focused between 15-1/2" and 19 1/2" from my eyes. For the 4X the distance is between 19" and 20-1/2" After a couple months you will be able to swap back and forth with out even thinking about it. At one time I even had a 4X on one side and a 2.5X installed on the other so in the end I had three distances I could see with; with no loupes. With the 2.5X and with the 4X. Most folks
