This is a very dangerous ... moredevice and whatever you do with this you do at your own risk. There are plenty of ways to be killed by this machine since its makers had no concern for safety. As you can see, it has seen better days, but I did run it for about 2 seconds and I got a ½ inch spark between the electrodes at the top, but working condition is not guaranteed and I don’t plan on firing it up again. All this needs to be a nice display item is a fresh coat of paint and some polishing. It was designed to run on 110 or 104 volts AC or DC(the previous owner unhooked the 104 volt terminal internally) and the power is applied to the un-insulated terminals on the base. Touching these or any other metal parts while power is applied will probably kill you so please don’t! Now for the bad news: There is no continuity between the electrodes unfortunately(not sure if that was the case before I fired it up) So there is a break somewhere in the secondary(probably in the wire going to the top part) The wire exiting from the side is present but does not go to the terminal anymore(you will need to extend and reconnect it) However the primary is still good and measures 52 ohms. The paint on the base flakes off with just a gentle touch, so expect more of it to be missing when it arrives. I have removed the electrodes for safe shipping so look for them in the package. The pictures are very much a part of the description, so please examine them closely before bidding. This machine is sold as-is for display only(no returns! I know nothing about this. I have never plugged it in. It was in a building that I bought. And I've never used it. There used to be a couple of plastic covers that went over the batteries, but I can't find them, so it is sold as pictured. It is very heavy and will have to be picked up in Raleigh, NC. I can not ship this. There is a plate on it that says 1993. So I assume that's when it was made. There is also an inspection sticker from 12/13/07, so I assume that it was working then. That's all that I know about it.

X-RAY machine portable for field use, from veterinary clinic, spare bulb, nice
This unit has not been in service for a few years. But I tested it and it still apparently works fine(produced a good image on x-ray film) It could be mounted for clinic use or as a portable machine in equine veterinary work in the field. It comes with a spare bulb(photos) that the previous owner said was worth in excess of $50.00 by itself. The buyer assumes all costs associated with permits for use as well as all safety aspects of operating radiographic equipment.
