Welcome to my auction. This auction is for a set of 73 Vintage Cards with pictures of WWII Ships on them. The front of the card has a picture of the ship and the word Restricted printed in the bottom left. The back of the card shows a similar picture of the ship and tells the name of the ship and the Country that used it. An example is: DD“A” I” Wallace Douglas Saguenay Codrington Classes Britain August 1944. The cards measure 2 ½” x 3 ½” each. Most are in good condition but a few do have some faint discoloration and one is bent. Over all pretty good condition. I know little to nothing about this sort of thing. This postcard projector came from an auction in Vermont. The front is marked trademark reg U.S. pat off Cleveland U.S.A. sixth city. When plugged in the light bulbs come on. The plug should be replaced as the top of the plug has fraying and is loose. The projector measures 13" high to the top of the chimneys. 13 1/4" wide, and 13" deep including the lens. It weighs almost ten pounds. The back removable panel has wear/use marks, some dinging, and rust. The projector has some rust, wear, dinging. The items to be projected are illuminated by two light bulbs. The light from the item is then focused by the adjustable lens and projected on a screen. Dworkin's Miscellanea offers for your consideration a Vintage Dux No. 49 Episcope Projector in the box with instructions. This is all original and in working order. Condition has the projector as very good. The unit works as designed, light and the instruction sheet(in English) is quite readable. The box is in just fair condition though is intact. Any familiar with this device pretty much knows what to expect and may be considered a collectable curio though it again does work and projects a reasonable image. Various resources place a date to this from 1945 to the mid 1950's. Tell has 1945 to be a bit optimistic with the 50's more realistic. As with much made in Germany(in almost any era) the design and engineering is first rate(no exception here) with this a fine representative example of that renowned quality. As stated.
