The platform tilts and locks and extends to it's full height. It has a few scratches and the cork on the platform probably should be replaced. Here I have a great Professional Camera Flash available. It is the Sunpak Auto 622 Pro-System with the Zoom head. A feature of this piece is that you can change out the flash head but this one comes with the Zoom Head. This also comes with the Sunpak CG-10 Battery Pack. A camera mounting bracket, and the Sunpak Slow Sync CA-2D Interface Module for Canon(dedicated shoe) with the Sunpak Ext- 11 cord. This flash is in good working condition with some cosmetic scratches and scuffs from regular use. You can remove the flash head but I was not able to get it off but if you have any questions I will get my Father-in-law to help me with this. I just did not want to force it and it was something that we did not take apart when he inspected it.
