Set of Four Cream Soup Sets Gold Encrusted Rim on Pure White Glaze Minton China/ England This set of 4 lovely cream soups and saucers was made by Minton China for Davis Collamore(5th Avenue. NY, NY) an importer of fine china and porcelain and glass and a rival of Tiffany. All of the cups and two of the saucers are in excellent condition: no chips, cracks, or crazing, and the gold encrusted rims show little if any wear. Two of the saucers, however, are cracked: one has been cracked all the way through and repaired(very neatly, possibly professionally) the other has a fine tight hairline that does not reach to the edge of the saucer. My low starting price reflects the damage to these two pieces and, I believe, is a reasonable starting price for the two perfect sets. This bid is for a Whiting& Davis Silhouette Dancers enamel metal mesh evening bag with metal compact. The purse is black and white with a black cord handle. The design is Art Deco and is probably from the 20’s or 30’s. The purse is in very good pre-owned condition. I didn’t notice any damage. There is some scratching I some tarnishing on the top of the metal. The Whiting tag is still attached to the purse and is in very good condition. The inside top compact is complete with mirror. Comb, rouge and powder still with silver wrapper in each container. The comb is a gold marbled plastic which could be Bakelite but I’m not sure. The come is approx. 2 x 1” and is in mint condition. The material is a white metal called Alumesh as shown on the label(photo 4) The inside is a bluish purple fabric. There is an inside pocket(photo 3) The 2 handles are the same Alumesh metal. The purse opens with a spring action hardware. This handbag is in amazing condition. Considering its age. Vintage Whiting & Davis Alumesh White Mesh Purse mid century era Evening Bag
This is a wonderful vintage Whiting and Davis Purse. Cream. Ivory or off white colored. The handle and closure look like they may be bakelite. The exterior of the purse is'alumesh' a mesh made from aluminum segments joined together. Painted a creamy white color. The inside of hte purse is a purple-brown color, it does have signs of the purse having been used. Still has the Whiting and Davis Tag inside. There is discoloration from a spilled liquid on the'bakelite or plastic' parts. We have tried to show the staining as best we can. The purse is heavy. It's over one pound in weight. When laying flat the body of the purse is 11 inches wide 6 1/2 inches long and depth is about 1 3/4 inches. The handle is about 15 inches long, total length from end to end. This is an estate find. We do not know the exact age of this purse.

The outer body of the vase is white and has a ribbed panel design with ripples going down both sides of the ribs. The pontil mark on the bottom is rough. The inner body is a cobalt blue. The top is flared and crimped to create a ruffled effect. I purchased this vase in Oct. 2011 at the Degenhart Museum in Cambridge. Ohio when it was closing. The"historian" told me it was made by Henry Davis of Wheaton Village circa 1980. Unfortunately, it is not signed and that museum is now gone. Whiting& Davis, White with Gold-tone Frame, Lined Maker: Whiting& Davis. U.S.A. Hallmarks: Inside stamped with the Whiting& Davis logo and also stamped“MADE IN U.S.A. Both were stamped before the frame was cut and so you only see a portion of both. In addition it has a cloth label attached to the lining. Pattern: Flat metal links with a bead on each piece with creamy white enamel paint covering the surface. A little bit of the gold-tone metal shows around each bead making the purse glow. Gorgeous gold-tone frame with open cut work across the whole frame on both sides. Circle link chain. Size: 9” long including the handle. The purse alone is 5-1/2” long and 4” wide at the frame and 5” wide ... moreat the bottom. The handle has a drop of 3-1/2” Features: The clasp works perfectly as do the hinges. Inside is lined in a creamy white with one pocket that holds a double-sided mirror and a receipt for this purse. The receipt is from Antiques Unlimited in Murfreesboro. TN and it says“Whiting& Davis white mesh purse” The cost is $75 plus $6.19(tax? for a total of $81.19. I will leave the receipt in the purse. Personalization: No personalization. Condition: No holes or loss of mesh and beads. Very slight wear on the metal and light soil around the top of the lining. The mirror is somewhat foggy on both sides. The only real issue is the size of the chain and the fact that it has a piece of wire holding it together on the side. I think someone removed some of the links and just wired together the two new ends. Probably easiest to just replace the chain. Undated, I estimate it is from the 1930s.The size is 5 1/2” x 7 1/2” and 76(complete) pages with a soft cover. Great pictures of saddles and horse tack with prices. Whiting & Davis unique white pearl finish w/gold mesh-post WWII
This auction is for a unique vintage Whiting& Davis Clutch. There is gold mesh between the pearl white enamel which makes the purse sparkle. The scalloped frame in excellent shape and the lining is very clean. There are two small pockets one on each side in the lining of the purse. In the front left side half down there is some paint missing& it looks like discoloration. The large gold and crystal clasp has the clip closure. Unfortunately there are four stones missing. Two large stones in the middle of the clasp and two small ones. I am sure a good jeweler could match up the crystals.
