These BG&E linesman's gloves were given to me right off the truck in the early 90's. When my coworker got a battle light, I still think he got the better deal. These are light duty gloves, not the thick rubber ones and considering their age, they are in great shape. They have some grease and de-ox on them but no holes or tears, some loose stiches here and there but intact and completely usable. I don't know if someone wants to use them for electrical work, or if someone collects old BG&E stuff, but they are made of canvas with leather palms, fingers, and knuckle guards. Each one of these gloves are found in cardboard boxes that are dated 1968 on the bottom. The gloves show little if any use although they are very stiff and hard. Perhaps they have not been broken in. I'm not sure how these will be once broken in-if being broken in is even possible at their age. The gloves show a little exterior soiling probably from storage. The paper indicates that the gloves are lead impregnated. The measure over 14" long and just one weighed 2 pounds 4 ounces. These are sold as is and as a preowned pair. Their history is unknown. They may or may not function as they should, they are untested. The size is unknown. Please examine all 8 pictures in detail as they are an important part of the description. What is interesting about these gloves is that they were tested each year for leaks. They have been stamp dated 1981, 1982& 1983. The leather is quite thick but supple for use. The only condition issue is piping at the top- we did not test these. The original canvas bag is stenciled, grommet holes at the bottom and initials on the top flap. My mother-in-law was an industrial electrician and I found these in her things. Two pairs of gloves in a canvas pouch. Pouch is labeled Test Laboratories and has a clip on the back. First pair of gloves is rubber, look good, no visible wear. Gloves say they are good to 500 V, manufactured September 2014. The second pair of gloves are leather, they have some slight/moderate wear and I tried to get it in the photos. The rubber gloves are size 8, leather gloves are size 8 to 8 1/2. There is also a short manual included with the gloves. These are not very long gloves as you can see from the photo. Please look at the photos closely. This is hardly more forte. These look like heavy duty thick gloves that are longer than normal gloves so I assume they would be great for a welder to use or perhaps a rancher or cowboy type. These show hardly any wear and are in excellent condition. I could just see the slightest of scuffs or discoloration on a few of the finger tips but it is very very minimal and these have tons of life left in them. NO holes. No rips, no tears and no stains. They look really clean on the inside and they are also pretty soft. They do not say large anywhere on them but I did compare them to another pair that was a large and they are about the same. Nice pair of heavy duty leather gloves. I guess if they are sewn with kevlar that means the stitching is also very strong. Vintage Salisbury class 2 linemen gloves in canvas bag. Bag has some wear. Size 9 1/2. tested 15.000 volts. Seem to still be in good shape. Horsehide leather over rubber. Most items are in vintage/used condition. Meaning it shows its age. That is to be expected with vintage/used items. It may have light scuffs/scratches, light usage wear, dirt, spots,etc, that I usually won't mention. b/c. it IS vintage. Buying a one of a kind vintage item outweighs any minor flaws an item has due to age, in my opinion. There are no major flaws I see, unless noted. The photos show condition. Please look closely at photos. Please Ask Questions. Mint condition = perfect. Never worn, no flaws. Excellent condition= worn. But no flaws, looks new. Vintage = worn. Expect some age, wear and tear. Great = no major issues or flaws. Good= very minor issues like ... moresmall spots that will likely come out with treatment. Dirt, loose threads, pin size/ small holes,or other issues that that should be easily repaired, or not big enough to bother with. fair= needs repair.Large spots, stains,tears, holes. Rough.
