You are looking at a set of Vintage SALISBURY Leather Lineman Gloves. Size 10, w/Rubber Gloves and Canvas Bag. These collector's items were purchased at an estate auction and present in USED Condition. One rubber glove reads, Tested 20,000 Volts, THE WHITE RUBBER CO. RAVENNA, OHIO. CURVED HAND made by WHITE RUBBER CO. RAVENNA, OHIO. P9533. SIZE 10" The other side reads, TESTED AT 20,000 I-AC, CABLE SERVICE CO. MG. 1, May 20, 1976" There is also a Cable Service Co. Testing Laboratory sticker on the inside of each glove. The other glove is stamped N4881 along with"TESTED AT 20,000 I-AC, CABLE SERVICE CO. MG. 2, May 20, 1976" The left rubber glove is easily removed from the leather glove, but the right rubber glove feels as if it may be stuck to the leather so I didn't try to remove it. The leather gloves don't ... morehave any holes or tears, but do have stains from use. The canvas bag presents with no tears or holes but does have staining due to it's age and use. The snaps are still in working condition and some of the grommets on the bottom have some corrosion. Up for auction is a vintage antique pair of industrial Factory safety gloves marked WHITE RUBBER CO. TYPE1 CLASS 2 ANSI/ASTM D120 Gloves in the original industrial bag. What is interesting about these gloves is that they were tested each year for leaks. They have been stamp dated 1981, 1982& 1983. The leather is quite thick but supple for use. The only condition issue is piping at the top- we did not test these. The original canvas bag is stenciled, grommet holes at the bottom and initials on the top flap. Set Salisbury High Voltage Lineman's Gloves - Size 8, Leather / Rubber w/ Pouch
My mother-in-law was an industrial electrician and I found these in her things. Two pairs of gloves in a canvas pouch. Pouch is labeled Test Laboratories and has a clip on the back. First pair of gloves is rubber, look good, no visible wear. Gloves say they are good to 500 V, manufactured September 2014. The second pair of gloves are leather, they have some slight/moderate wear and I tried to get it in the photos. The rubber gloves are size 8, leather gloves are size 8 to 8 1/2. There is also a short manual included with the gloves. These are not very long gloves as you can see from the photo. Please look at the photos closely. This is hardly more forte. Vintage Salisbury class 2 linemen gloves in canvas bag. Bag has some wear. Size 9 1/2. tested 15.000 volts. Seem to still be in good shape. Horsehide leather over rubber. Most items are in vintage/used condition. Meaning it shows its age. That is to be expected with vintage/used items. It may have light scuffs/scratches, light usage wear, dirt, spots,etc, that I usually won't mention. b/c. it IS vintage. Buying a one of a kind vintage item outweighs any minor flaws an item has due to age, in my opinion. There are no major flaws I see, unless noted. The photos show condition. Please look closely at photos. Please Ask Questions. Mint condition = perfect. Never worn, no flaws. Excellent condition= worn. But no flaws, looks new. Vintage = worn.
