Honda EU3000is inverter generator, which has seen very little use/has very low hours, has a brand spanking new(purchased 2/1/2013) AGM battery installed/on-board, fires up on either/both the first turn of the key, or pull from the starter cord, then runs smoothly& very quietly. Functionality: On January 31st. 2013, I went to fire up this generator for the 1st time in approximately 6 months, discovered that the battery had died/gone belly up(the automatic starter/ignition did nothing) so I tried the pull cord/starter, she fired up on the first pull. I then tested( determining the battery was toast/dead) replaced the battery with a brand new AGM battery(purchased at O'Reilly Auto Parts; I will provide the original receipt for the battery[for warranty purposes] to the purchaser/buyer of the generator) after which ... morethe automatic starter/ignition also fired up the generator on the first attempt/turn of the key. Once running, the generator ran smoothly/beautifully& extremely quietly(in my opinion, these are the best generators on the planet) I have owned this generator for approximately 1 year& in this time, have utilized the generator only twice, although I did not purchase the generator new myself. When examining the internal/working parts of the machine(i.e; motor, etc) it appears/seems obvious to me, that this generator has been run for a very low number of hours in it's lifetime. Condition: As you can see(from the included photos of the actual generator I am selling in this post) there are several/many scuffs. Scrapes, nicks/chips off of the paint, on the outside/chassis of this generator. Dayton Inverter Generator for repair 500 Watt needs carburetor fix Honda EU1000
Offered without reserve is a 2W512A Dayton 500 Watt Inverter camping Generator that I have owned for about 5 years. I think it dates to the early 1980's era, it produces around 500 watts of power. This has an alternator with an inverter to convert the power to 110v, I think that it is similar in concept to the Honda EU1000i but is probably a bit smaller in size and output. The generator measures approx. 11" tall, 15" long and it is 8" wide, it weights about 35 lb. When first purchased it at an estate sale it would not run correctly so I brought to our local small engine mechanic. He told replaced the fuel lines and said that they had turned to gum, he also rebuilt the carburetor. It started easy and ran great when I got it back, it has a quiet running engine. We have a whole house size generator but I kept this one around ... morejust in case but it has not been used over the past 5 years at all. I neglected to drain the fuel(it requires mixed fuel like a chainsaw) and it turned stale. Last week I emptied the tank and re filled with fresh fuel and it started after a prime through the spark hole but it fails to continue running. I am quite sure that it needs a carburetor rebuild and it may need the fuel lines replaced again, the electrical generating system still works(I saw the light illuminate during the short primer induced run time) I know this may not be for everyone but thought that someone out there may be handy with engines, I am sure that it can be made to run again in the right hands. Our local small engine mechanic is no longer alive and I do not have the motivation or time to get this running, it is offered for parts or repair, hopefully someone can put it to good use.No Reserve! have fun bidding!
