It is a portable unit and complete. This is a 1985 model but I believe it will be perfect for Veterinary use or any other use where you dont want to spend a lot. I do guarantee it will not be DOA. Comes with the GE RT50 Ultrasound Console. 3.5 MHz Probe and Original Cart. Has a 5" b/w screen w/ video in/out connectors on the back. There are numerous buttons and setting adjustment controls with an image freeze feature. The console only weighs 14 lbs and quickly removes from the cart to become a portable unit. I believe originally this system came with a camera unit to capture images and there is a shelf on the cart for ... morethe camera. There are recesses in the top of the console to hold the probe and a bottle of ultrasound gel. The cart is really lightweight with the top shelf tilts. I plugged this machine in and was easily able to produce results on the screen when I applied the probe to my own abdomen using ultrasound gel. I watched my heart activity in real time and I was a little suprised how detailed the image was on the screen.
