Vintage Machinist Brass Boston Gears, Wheels & Worm Gear Lot - 14 Pcs.
This auction is for A VINTAGE LOT OF 14 MACHINIST BRASS BOSTON GEARS. WHEELS& WORM GEARS. They are in very good. Used condition, showing minor patina and some have a few surface scratches. I don't see any missing teeth. Last year I bought several boxes of gears, cutting wheels, machinist tools, etc. I am just now sorting them out. There are lots of cutter tools and gears like these. I will be listing all of them as quickly as I can. The estate included a Bridgeport Milling Machine& Metal Lathe all belonging to the original owner who was also an inventor among other things. He also built clocks so I imagine some of this stuff would be for that. This particular lot has 14 gears and all are marked with Boston or numbers except for the larger(3) Worm Gears and the little brass wheel with the gear in the center. All are brass except ... morefor the 2 small gears attached together with a wire. The 3 Worm Gears have the numbers"A112346" on their boxes. They measure about 2 1/2" across in diameter. The 3 flat Gear Wheels have"Boston" written on them with the number on 2 of them- G111" G110" is on the smaller one. The 2 silver gears say"Boston"H-2424-R" and"H2412R" 5 of the gears have"Boston" and a set of numbers written on their bottom circular stems. Another one is marked with a"B" and has a number"G1028" next to it. They vary in sizes. I couldn't find any marks on the small brass gear with the little gear in the center. The last 3 photos show the gears next to a ruler so you can get an idea about the actual sizes. If you have any questions, feel free to ask; and I will try to answer.
