Vintage Wright& McGill Granger Victory Bamboo Fly Rod Model GV8642. 8'6 3/2 5wt. This the famed Granger 8642 made by Wright& McGill after WWII. It is the"Victory" model. 8'6, 4.2 ounce rod originally designed and made by Goodwin Granger. After his death in the 30's, Bill Phillipson took over the Granger Rod Co.and kept this rod in the inventory due to its renown as the quintessential"Western Dry Fly Rod" it was designed around a 5wt line but has been known to use 4, 5, and 6 wt lines due to its swelled butt and delicate tip which enhanced its versatility. This rod is in good shape, all sections full length, the ferrules are tight and seat correctly. The reelseat is in proper working order, moving freely. The guides are in good shape, missing one guide on the mid section(see picture 4) The tube and bag ... moreare original to the rod. The last two pictures, the handle appears to be dark only because I had to take it with a different light to not glare out the name, hence the off color which is only because of fluorescent lighting. All models were of the 8642 were consistent high quality with the same nickel silver ferrules and reel seat and the same precise construction. Only the grading of the cane. The style of the windings and the number of guides per section varied between the higher and lower priced models. All Granger rods featured a unique tempering process with ammonia steam which gave the bamboo a distinct resiliency of action and a characteristic rich caramel color for which these rods are famous. The ferrules and the internal uplock seat with their unique design and look were made in the factory of Nickel Silver. The rod model name was stamped on the butt section immediately ahead of the cork handle. Shipping will be the actual cost. These pieces are in very good to excellent used condition. The glaze is bright and shiny. There is light to very light use and utensil marks. VINTAGE HULL ART POTTERY ROSELLA pink EWER R9 6 1/2 R CERAMIC pitcher bud vase
Made in the USA! Up for your bidding pleasure is this beautiful signed vintage HULL art pottery Ewer produced by the Hull Pottery Co. for the Rosella line. Among other things. It can be used as a gorgeous bud vase. The main color is a lovely shade of pink pink and it has contrasting white in portions of the the flowers, stems and leaves. The leaf veins and flower stamens are highlighted with a brownish earth tone. This extraordinary Ewer measures approximately 6 1/2" tall. It also measures approximately 4 1/8" in diameter at the bulbous portion of the Ewer(about 4 1/4" with the handle) and is approximately 3 1/2" diameter at the base. This piece is in very good clean condition with no chips(except some typical very small ones at the base) Cracks or repairs(please see photos) I only see a few small insignificant surface ... morescratches and a little bit of crazing at the base. When I used a magnifying glass. I saw a little bit of crazing in the decoration but it is hardly noticeable in use. It is incised on the bottom"Hull Art U.S.A. R-9-6 1/2-R" This beautiful Ewer has a wonderful glaze. A valued piece when seen in person. Any white spots you may see in the photos are only light reflections. Not condition issues unless otherwise mentioned. This style likely dates from the late 20's early 30's. It has been DISCONTINUED for decades. I t is unknown just how few of these pieces were actually made and how many actually survive today. This is a wonderful Ewer that will make a beautiful and valued addition to your vintage Hull Pottery Collection. You might even make your neighbors a teeny bit jealous. You are viewing a Vintage AC Williams Cast Iron Howdah Elephant Bank. He is 6 1/2" long X 4 1/2" tall. He has fantastic detail in the casting showing great muscle tone and folds in the ears. His trunk is down with his eyes open. His tail is wrapped around behind him as if to be in motion. It shows detail on the elephants blanket. Inside one leg it is embossed Pat. AP D For.
