(2) Wicker Leather Trimmed Fishing creel Baskets Vintage 1940's 50's HONG KONG
Up for your consideration are a couple of vintage original leather trimmed fishing basket creels from Hong Kong. These were made primarily in the 1940's and 1950's. I just aquired them 3 days ago. The baskets appear all original. The exception is the shoulder strap on the basket on the left. It may not be original but its very old too. These belonged to an avid fisherman. See my other auctions for some of his bait cans and lures. Etc. The basket on the left is trimmed in reddish colored leather and has been subject to some sort of splashing. To me. It gives it more appeal. The strap used to buckle the top down is missing. I have the strap and will ship it along with the creel should the winning bidder wish to try and mend it somehow. The creel measures approx. 14 inches across by 9 inches high. The basket on the right is trimmed in ... morebrown leather and is in incredible shape. Zoom in. As I believe the baskets true condition is represented well in the photos. It is missing the buckle and some of the other leather parts are rough but it is a very sturdy basket overall and has no holes other than the one it is made to have on the top. This basket measures approx 16 inches across and 8 inches high. Both baskets have flaws but the wicker itself is in incredible shape. It has no holes or cruched corners. They both sit flat and have virtually no damage to their bottoms other than scuffs. The seller was a heavy smoker and within a few feet I can smell the smoke eminating. Because they were only in his house a few days. I suspect the smell will be temporary, but i wanted to make sure and disclose this. It is used for filling paintball compressed air tanks from a scuba tank. Or high pressure cascade system. I have fully tested this booster, and it works flawlessly. The high pressure inlet and outlet ports are 1/4" NPT male, and the low pressure drive air inlet is 1/2" NPT female. This booster comes complete with a premium paintball fill station. There is a Sherwood fill valve. Stainless Steel bleed valve, Liquid Filled 5000psi gauge, and 6000psi fill whip, with stainless female paintball quick disconnect. The high pressure cylinder, check ... morevalves, and bleed valve are made of stainless steel. To get started filling paintball tanks, all you would have to do is run a hose from your High Pressure air source to the HP inlet of this booster, and run a hose from your shop air compressor to the drive air connection. This booster is self-recipricating, so it fills tanks very fast. This is definately a premium quality booster, perfect for any field or store. The pressure ratio(output pressure to drive pressure) is 50 to 1. That means if you drive it with 100psi. You will get 5000psi out. HOWEVER, the output pressure will never reach 5000psi if you do not input about 1000psi or more. You cannot get 3000psi from just your regular old air compressor. That is not what a booster does. It BOOSTS the pressure of a gas. The limit on the boost ratio is about 6 to 1. You must start off with no less than 1/6th of the pressure you want to wind up at. For example, to reach 3000psi, you need a minimum of 500psi as the input. For testing, I used 1000psi compressed air for the input, and 100psi for the drive air. These caps were pulls from an EARLY serial numbered Baldwin model 5 console organ I am thinking was circa 1953. Sangamo type 30 1.5 mfd 200v. Leads are roughly 1 1/4 to 1 3/4" long. +/ and should be good enough as is or, you can easily add to the leads, so you can reach your soldering points. Cap diameter is roughly 1 1/4" and about 2 3/4"long so. These are BIG caps so make sure they will fit your space. These do have removable chassis hold down clamps and all that is needed is a machine screw to hold it down to a chassis or. If you don't want them, they slide right off and the clamps do hold them pretty firmly if you choose to use the clamps. Very hard to find type 30's. I have 2 more pairs and if the winner wants 1 or ... more2 more pairs. I will not call the note uncirculated but it's close. That single pinhole might be the only thing ... morepreventing it from being uncirculated. The edges are all sharp and smooth. The corners are all great and the paper is still very crispy and has good body. There are no tears or creasing to the note and the fibers in the paper are still easily visible on both sides. But especially on the back which is common. The is the rarest of the four notes and I think, the best. The imagery on the note is still good to go. No writing on the note. No damage from tears and the edges are not ragged. Ten Cent Meredith Red Seal Note T he only thing which keeps this note from being better than the Meredith Green Seal Note is that the red seal note has a brown stain on it. It depends on wh ether or not you think the green seal's pinhole it bigge r detraction than the red seal's br own stain. Other than that. The red seal is slightly better.
