The original work is in the collection of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art. The window measures 9 1/2 inches across and 13 inches long around the outside edge of the frame. ANTIQUE HANDMADE STAINED GLASS PANEL ART NOVEAU FROM ENGLAND 16" X 17 1/4"
I bought this at an auction years ago. It was in a group of antique& vintage furniture pieces shipped from England. It has heavy glass with lead caming. There is a 2nd identical piece that I will ship with it but the 2nd piece needs probably 50% of the glass replaced. Tell me if you want it& are willing to pay the extra shipping. The panel pictured has a hairline crack in two of the green pieces(as shown in the photos) look closely at the green pieces near the center of the window. It came encased in a large bulky metal window but we removed it to eliminate weight. Size is 16" x 17 1/4" I'm not sure if this would be called Art Noveau or Arts& Crafts or Frank Lloyd Wright style? BIO Brent Cole. Who earned his B.F.A. in glass from The Cleveland Institute of Art and his M.F.A. in sculpture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, takes a more painterly approach to glass, seeing it as a canvas. Applying his graal interpretation, he wo rks hot and cold. Meticulously dotting enamel dust across the surface, bringing lush mountain landscapes to life. Working in the mountains of western North Carolina provided me with endless views from which to draw inspiration, he says. As for early influences, he credits two turn-of-the-century companies—the French glass manufacturer Daum and Rookwood Pottery of Ohio—as well as the early work of Mark Peiser. Brent has been a teaching assistant for various artists at Pilchuck School and Penland School of Crafts. Heavy Modern Art Glass Sculpture By Deborah Carlson
The sculpture is built on a large. Heavy, 3/4" slab of rectangular, clear glass that is almost 9" long and 6" wide. Centered on its top, she has fused a thick, rectangular plate with multi-colored stripes across its surface and topped it off with a final layer of clear glass. This rectangle is 7" long and 4" wide. The colors in the stripes are yellow, orange, red, green and differing shades of blue and white. The artist then placed differing sizes and colors of circular, thick glass'pebbles' in various arrangements. They are in different shades of blue with red and green. The pebbles measure anywhere from almost 1 and 1/2" down to 1/2" in diameter. Two are on top of each other and one is leaning from the striped area onto the base, at an angle. The entire piece was then fused. The piece is signed'Deborah ... moreCarlson 2002' with a small, outlined star by her name. Carlson has added four clear rubber bumpers to the clear base for surface protection, and enabling easier pick up for moving from one setting to another. This is a beautiful, bold, straight-forward, contemporary design, carefully executed by a known artist. The piece is very heavy and I doubt its use as a paperweight. I hope you enjoy color as much as I do… DESCRIPTION This original hand blown glass platter measures 17” x 15” x 3 ½” and is signed/dated. The platter that is up for auction has a cobalt. White, and bright green pattern throughout the inside. This platter is finished off with a bright yellow lip around the scalloped edge. The scallops around the edge add to the platters organic characteristic. All the platters that I make have a glass foot on the bottom. Offered for your consideration is this magnificent art nouveau or art deco style Bohemian glass vase from Egermann. Czech Republic. The upper quarter of the vase is clear glass, the rest is frosted. The decorations consist of ornament like designs with ribbons holding up smaller ornaments. The raised designs are in gold, black, pink and blue and surround the vase. The vase is 3" in diameter at the base and a little under 5" in diameter at the gold trimmed rim. In mint condition with no chips or cracks and all the designs are intact and the colors show no wear. I have a beautiful green iridescent Art Nouveau glass vase by Kralik or possibly Loetz c. 1900-1920. Its in good condition. But the cap is loose and there is some minor wear to the rim underneath but it cannot be seen. Also there is a small inclusion from the glass blowing process near the base which I will attach a picture of. Other than that its in very good shape and I believe the cap is possibly made of silver but It hasn't been tested. Its a beautiful piece that would make a great addition to any collection of victorian, arts and crafts, aesthetic movement or art nouveau collections. Large Clear with Red Thread Peloton Glass - Bohemian art glass - Kralik - Harra
Rare Large Clear with Red Thread Peloton Glass Bohemian art glass Approx 8 ¾” tall Red Threading is in GREAT condition. Unable to find any missing. The pontil is round. Indented and smooth, with some thread continuing into the pontil area. The marker is Harrach. The inventor of Peloton glass was William Kralik when he was the Director at Harrach. And the invention was patented in October, 1880. Peloton glass started out as clear. And then the glass was rolled or dipped into threads of other colors while the glass is hot, so that the threads might be embedded into the glass or raised up on the surface. The threads are also referred to as"shredded cocoanuts. After the glass was dipped or rolled around in the colored glass threads, the glass was reheated and then hand formed to achieve this wonderful shape. I mention all of this because ... morefor this vase the dip at the rim, the lightness in weight of the glass, and the smoothness of the pontil all indicate authenticity and conform to being hand dipped into red threads and hand molded after being reheated. DESCRIPTION: Absolutely Beautiful Kralik Art Glass Vase with Enamel decoration of Coral. Seaweed, and Fish after an Insect. There is also White Enamel Beading around the top and the base. You can feel the line on the inside of the Vase but not the outside of the vase. So I'm not sure if this is really a hairline or more like a flaw in the making.
