The estate was loaded with worldly possessions. Yet nothing Native American so we're not going there with this item. Given the color and materials we are guessing South America and at least the 1st half of the 20th century(pre-1950) There are seven(7) primary sections of this belt which are shown in sequence from left to right in photos 4 thru 10. There are eight(8) strands of beads running horizontal throughout. The belt widens as it gets towards the middle then narrows back down to the ... moreopposite end. The beads are some type of stone and the vertical supports appear to be bone(likely not ivory if it originated in South America) The belt(we're sure it's not a necklace as it won't lay properly around the neck) is 28.5" from button hole to bottom of the button.
