Vintage Stroh Brewery Co. Stainless Steel Beer Keg 15.5 gal #24
Old Stainless Steel 15.5 Keg Stroh Brewery Co Worn from use with lots of scratches and dents. The side has no wooden bung in the bung hole. It was removed to drain the small amount of old beer that was left in it. Keg may have a vinegar odor because evidently that's what beer turns into after 20 odd years. They used to remove the bung from the bung hole. Clean the keg, refill with beer and put in a new wooden bung with a mallet. The bung hole itself is smooth(unthreaded) and is 2" in diameter. All kegs(both 15.5 gal and 7.75 gal) used to have the same size bung. New style kegs are cleaned and filled through the hole on top by removing the ball valve. Replacement bungs are available at for $1 ea. This keg was purchased several years ago from a brewery that was changing over to the newer style kegs. This one had a yellow band painted ... morearound the middle but it's mostly worn off now. There is an extra fitting at the base of this one that isn't on any of the kegs I have left. This is an original Ballantine beer keg. It is made out of stainless steel and was manufactured by Firestone. This keg has been enjoyed many times. It has dents and scratches from use. Please see the photos. Ballantine ceased making beer in May of 1972, this keg predates that. It is 22" tall and approximately 16" in diameter. 15.5 gallons. This would also make a good gas tank, the stainless steel shell is thick. Shipping weight is 33Lbs.

You are bidding on a vintage. Used, Hoff Stevens style, 1/4 Barrel, Metal BEER KEG. It has a Iron City Beer of Pittsburgh. PA Label on the top. One of Pittsburgh most famous brewery. This stainless steel keg still has the label side. As you can see. The keg shows normal dings and dents from use. This is great for decorating a"Man Cave" or home bar area. If you plan to use it for home-brewing it will need to be cleaned and sanitized, since it has been sitting, as is, for about 20 some years. Please use the pictures as part of the description!
