The estate I acquired this from told me that the fixture was in good working condition when it was taken down and replaced with another fixture. It has not been tested since. The wiring and the hou sing for the three bulbs look good from what I can see. The fixture has been stored for several years and may need additional detail cleaning prior to display. CHINESE FAN ANTIQUE Retractable HANDPAINTED WOOD,PAPER,BAMBOO Museum Deaquistion
This antique Chinese fan was a de-aquisition from a museum in western Massachusetts. It is an interesting fan in that is retractable into a handpainted wooden frame. From the frame. A length of bamboo extends down as a handle. Through the handle is a length of string which runs up through the center of the fan and up to the top-this string is pulled at either end to retract or pull out the fan. The paper which the fan is composed of is printed witha beautiful floral motif. I'm guessing but I believe this piece was made for the tourist trade, as it has a more"folksy" construction. I have no idea what the characters say-if there is someone out there that would be willing to share their knowledge, it would be greatly appreciated. On one edge of the fan are some letters and numbers, probably catalog numbers from the museum-there ... moreis also the name of"Miss Henrietta Harris"probably the person who donated it. I am guessing that this piece was made at the turn of the last century but it certainly could be earlier than that-1880's or'90's. While I make every effort to give an accurate description. Item Description: You are bidding on a vintage mace-w ielding knight table lamp manufactured by an unknown make r probably in France. The lamp measures 17" high to the top of the light socket. The lamp came with the retractable 4.5" high beaded flower shade shown in photo 11. I'm not sure if this is the original shade. But it looks pretty good to me. The lamp is made of cast metal(spelter? and is in good condition with wear consistent with age and use. The cord may need to be replaced because it is fraying near the convergence of the lamp rod and lamp base(see photo 9) The lamp is in excellent working condition(see photo 1)

No damage or repairs, gentle wear and scuffing consistent with age, and monogramed. Locking back pin works fine. Gold filled front, chain and hook. Not sure what the foundation metal is. Fly Rod Reel-seat with Retractable Fighting Butt This is a reelseat I salvaged from a broken rod. This is an uplocking style reel-seat that allows you to extend the fighting butt from 1" to 4" in length. Simply unscrew the butt counterclockwise. Pull it out and lock in in place by continuing to thread it counterclockwise. No chance of losing a detachable fighting butt. Aside from a small ding on the barrel located where the reel foot rests(see photos) it's in great shape. Welcome ~ here is a wonderful set of antique chatelaine jewelry- The round pin is a retractable chain and still works(it has some writing on the back that is hard to make out-I think it says"Sim-pull? and then"Patented" I am not 100% sure. The pencil that connects to it is swirled/marbled like bakelite but i do not know for sure what it is made of.I have also included a gold* fleur de lis chatelaine pin that has a hook type thing on the back.This is a great vintage/antique set of pieces.Everything has wear that would be normal for the age of the items-I never attempt to clean.Polish,etc. any older jewelry-I leave that up to the new owner.If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask( the pictures did not come out as good as I would like so if you would like to see more photographs please ask. This retro green Tole lamp has many more years of life to add to your room! The lamp comes with a wall bracket that the centerpiece slides down into for simple installation. Once hung the lamp may be pulled up or down using a counterweight, retractable pulley system to adjust the height based on your needs. The position of the light can be adjusted by moving the arm side to side. The light dome is 14" across and about 6" high. There is a sunburst plastic cover(only flaw I can see is one tiny crack on the side of this shade, see photos) that screws over the light socket assembly. The yellow fabric cord and all components are all original and ... moremost likely from the 1960-1970's. This may be shipped in two boxes or partially disassembled for safe shipping.
