Vintage Killark Explosion Proof Industrial Light Fixture Green Porcelain Enamel
Here is an original authentic vintage Killark Industrial Explosion Proof Light. Marked on the front with a metal label identifying the Killark name and make/model information. Great industrial light in very nice condition. Outside is green enamel/porcelain in very nice shape with very minor scuffs/scratches, no significant paint loss, dings, dents, or scratches. Inside of shade is white with only a couple areas of wear(shown in pictures around shade rim area) There is a very tiny bit of rust right around the rim of the shade but other than that is very clean. I believe the rest of the lamp fixture is cast aluminum as I do not see any rust in this area. This lamp measures about 22" in length, and the diameter of the shade is about 12" The lamp and fixture weigh just under 15 lbs. For your consideration: Vintage General Electric floodlight lighting equipment C506G002 floodlight. Based on all my research and examination this fixture is mid-century and in very good condition. The fixture measures approx. 12" across with the glass area being 10 3/8" in diameter. The depth of the fixture from front to back is about 16" With some modest disassembly I expect it will fit safely in an 12x12x16 cube package. The shipping weight is about 13 pounds. The light is comprised of a cast aluminum base and stamped aluminum lamp enclosure with a Pyrex glass enclosure cover. The fixture is a Cat. C506G002 TYPE L 98 CODE UW The fixture is considered an a floodlight designed for use lighting areas perpendicular ... moreto the orientation of the cover lens when"up" is orients the patent information readable. This specific fixture is designed to use a 100 watt lamp(bulb) with a mogul base. I found a reference to it using mercury vapor lamps however I tested it with an incandescent bulb. The bulb I tested with was large and overpowered my camera so it look dimmer than it really is. The bottom of the fixture has what appears to be angle markings range 90 degrees from a center 0 position. Every image I have seen of this fixture has it pointing to 45 degrees. I made a timid attempt to reposition the mount but it did not move. I am firmly convinced this fixture angle can only be altered by using different angle elbows and such to get the desired orientation. I will be including some 3/4" galvanized fitting for the buyer to experiment with. The enclosure is designed to be weatherproof with a Pyrex glass cover. The glass has PYREX REG. U.S. PAT.OFF. 10 3/8 D.A. MADE IN U.S.A and the number 40. The GE logo is molded into the center of the cover with 4815467 above the logo and C.G.W. below it. VINTAGE INDUSTRIAL NAUTICAL BRASS SHIP LIGHT EXPLOSION PROOF BRASS SWITCH ALARM
This light. Switch and alarm are all made out of solid brass and came off a an Alaska trawler/processor which was retrofitted in the early 1990's. I got this from one of the guys who did the retrofit. The name of the boat was the Pacific Ranger which has since sunk in Alaska. From what this guy said this was used on the boat in case of fire or emergency. The light would be switched on and the alarm bell would ring. The light and switch are made by Lovell of New Jersey. The light has a brass cage which unscrews and the glass dome inside unscrews as well. The light measures 8 1/ high and is close to 5" around. The switch is really neat and measures approx 3 1/2" around and has mounting tabs. The switch and light have been rewired and work perfectly. The alarm has not been wired but looks great.
