Pentax Asahi one degree Digital Spot Meter Modified by Zone VI Studios w/ Case
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 I have used this ZoneVI modified Pentax/Asahi 1 degree Digital Spot Meter for several years and it is still fully functional due to its very rugged design. It is in good condition. This meter makes the Zone System quick and practical. As the pictures show: It includes the lens cap. Strap, and case. I threw the pentax manual away years ago as it didn’t show anything on using the Zone System. The top ZoneVI label came from the factory slightly skewed and it is lifted very slightly on the far left edge. Never caused any problem in use. The color of the label looks yellowed but it came that way new. It never was white. The battery has some age on it but it is only in use while the trigger is pressed. It may have a good deal of life left. When it goes dead you’ll need to get a 6V PX28 type ... morebattery to replace it. It is a specialty battery but a Google search listed many of them. Some for under $5.00. ZoneVI enhanced it by changing the internal light baffles to reduce flare and added filters and calibrated it to be more accurate over the spectral range. Initially this was intended to match b/w film but it works well for digital imaging also. The eyepiece has adjustable diopter/focusing· I’ve looked for dings and scratches. Rotated in the right light. I think I see some paint scrapes in the inner light baffle. The lens cover has seen some abuse. ZoneVI did not produce a dedicated manual for the meter as the use of it entailed learning the Zone System. To help you with this. Or for a nostalgia trip, I’ve included Fred Picker’s‘Zone VI Workshop’ book. Although it is not a see and do guide to this particular meter.
