Rare Mod Vintage Brass Triple Switch Cover Plate for Push Button & Toggle SW.
This auction is for an unusual modified vintage brass triple gang switch cover plate. for combination of 2 push button and 1 toggle switch. I haven't repaired or cleaned up this 4 1/2" x 6 3/8" switch plate in any way as shown in photos. A few small scratches. But no dents or deep scratches. The brass has tarnished to nice patina, but could be brought to shiny brass state if so desired. The modified slot for toggle switch has brass cut and pushed to back side of plate. Vtg Brass Push Button Plates, 10 Single Gang, 1 Two Gang, 1 Single switch/outlet
Search This is a lot of 10 single covers with two holes. One double switch plate with 4 holes,and one double cover with two holes for the switch and one large hole for the outlet. The back of this last plate has been ground top and bottom, apparently to make clearance for the metal boxes. Ground area does not extend to the edges and oes not show in any way when the plate is screwed on. This plate is very heavy, weighs 10 ounces. The double switch plate weighs about 4 ounces, which probably is a more normal weight. Two of the single gang and the double gang switch plate look unused to me. This is an old door bell or push button switch. It is made of brass with a hard rubber or early plastic button. It is 2 1/4 inches in diameter with a 3/8 inch diameter button. We think this door bell was never installed or used. There are a few dark spots on the brass and a few light scratches.
