This is A Clausing 4-Position carriage stop. I am not sure what lathe it fits- I believe it is for a 14' lathe because I have a 12" Clausing lathe and it is slightly too big for it. Vintage Solid Brass Door Stop *Architectural* Pat'd 1900
This piece is an old solid brass door stop. It is 7.5" long. Pat'd Oct.23.1900. It fastens to a door with 3 screws(not included) and extends down with a push of ones foot against the floor to hold the door open( see picture 2) It is then easily released with your foot as well. This is a cool old piece that works very well and has a great patina. The rubber piece on the bottom has a screw in the middle and could be replaced.
