Rare 1900's NAVAJO Hubbell Ganado Floor RUG 50x83 Weaving Textile Blanket
Up for sale is the first of two large floor rugs Im selling from a high end collection in Doylestown Pennsylvania. This weaving is in very very good Condition. It was made in the early 1900's at the Ganado region of the Navajo Nation. This weaving may have been held by Lorenzo Hubbell himself as you can tell this is a very well made rare piece worthy of being put in the highest of Navajo Rug collections. Take note of the two large Hubbell crosses. Arrows and the wood grain look of the old gold color its a great weaveing. It measures 50 inches wide and 83 inches long. Weavings of this design, size and caliber are rare and commend a high price when put up for sale. It is woven of hand spun and carded Churro wool both weft and warp. The rug has a weft to warp count of 22 to 6. It is in the best of shape with no major stains, a Light stain ... morein the bottom of 2nd picture) no major dye bleed(some of the old gold has moved to the first weft string next to it typical of this color its not distracting and is only mentioned to be 100% accurate) no moth damage, and no repairs. This weaving has not been repaired or cleaned its the type of piece collectors love to find. The colors in this blanket are grey, natural white, aniline red, brown/black and old gold. This rug has 2 two ply selvage cords on the weft and warp ends that are in great shape with no breaks no repairs. The corners are in great shape with two original tassels and two missing. I would urge you to go online and look for another weaving of this age, size, condition, design, and style you will soon find out the cost of these rare weavings. I have more pictures if needed. Large Scale Oak Floor Lamp w/ Leaded Glass Shade Hubbell Limbert Stickley Era
Large scale quarter sawn Oak floor lamp with a geometric leaded glass shade attributed to Duffner& Kimberly. Assembled fixture measures 77" tall. Shade measures 20" square and 12" tall. THe base measures 12" square and rests on four simple feet. The body features a warm finish on the tiger striped quarter sawn Oak. There are a few dings along the corners of the center pole. I will gladly provide images. But there was not enough room in this original listing. Perched atop the Oak center body is a cluster of four Harvey Hubbell INC pull chain sockets. Each pull chain measures 8 1/2" long and retains the original acorn shaped pull. The latest patent date on each socket shell is Oct 18 08. The brass components also retain a uniform finish. Shade features brass plated came and is extremely heavy. The shade fits the ... moremount on top of the lamp perfectly. They appear to be an original set and not a marriage. The two piece heat cap has a fitter soldered to the underside that mates up with the fitter on top of the shade and holds it securely in place. I will gladly provide images of this detail as well. I was able to locate 5 cracked panels on the shade. 2 are in the bottom green border on opposite side of the lamp and are shown in images 10& 11. The other 3 cracked panels are on a third side in the bottom row of caramel slag. They can be seen in images 8 and 9. Plug end is marked Hubbell as well. Cord was on the lamp when I purchased it and it did not need replacing. Cardboard socket insulators were replaced. Mica interiors remain intact. This fixture was definitely fabricated by a top of the line manufacturer at the beginning of the 20th century. This lamp was purchased in Michigan 15 years ago. This cover is part of an original assembly. It will not fit on just any receptacle. Please view pictures and make sure screw holes match up before bidding. Brass cover has a brushed finish. It is used. I cleaned it with a brush and some compound. I only put about 5 minutes of elbow grease into it. It will probably clean up better. Screw locks turn freely.
