High quality stainless steel. The only piece that is not stainless steel is the conduit curved piece that is easily removed. These were built to hospital standards for holding various electronics. Switches, and pumps. The actual box dimensions are 7 1/8" X 6" X 3 3/4" and the cable side channel run is an additional 2" making the 6" width 8" overall. The top is held on by two screws which attach to the inside mounting plate. The mounting plate is fastened with two bolts so it could be removed or refit. The electrical plug connections are fastened with two screws each so they can be quickly removed or changed to your own needs. I recently acquired the remaining inventory in my estranged husband's electronics shop and have finally started the daunting task of sorting through the shelves of items! This is a Hoffman enclosure with the box measuring 10" x 8" x 5" I'm not sure what he started to use it for. But there was a board with some components inside, which I removed. You can see from the photos that there are two small holes drilled in the top and inside are two little white plastic pieces that I believe are to run wires through- they appear to be maybe glued on, and I did not try to remove them as I didn't want to damage the Hoffman label inside. There was a large label stuck to the front of the enclosure which I removed with acetone(well, okay, I used nail polish remover! This enclosure weighs just over 1.5 kg.
