This auction is for 2(two) matching pair(left and right) bookcases HOOK door hinge assemblies. I have gone to considerable expense, time and effort to have these produced. THESE ARE EXACTING DOWN TO THE LAST MICRON OF MEASUREMENT, MATERIAL AND FINISH! If I were not telling you that they were new production it would be impossible for you to know they weren't 100 year old production parts. They also come ... morewith the correct attaching nails with the proper head size and length. I have had many calls for these in the past and they went for high prices to discriminating restorers. The only source was robbing original doors(SECOND PICTURE) These are the only correct ones ever offered on ebay! See my other ad on ebay for the later square hinge assembly. These early hook hinge assemblies will work on all makes of bookcases as well but were found on all early Globe Wernicke cases. Additional quantities of these are available to the winning bidder at a discount and with free shipping. They work perfectly with the factory door hinge roller bearings and tracts. Installed they are identical in color to the original production hinges. If these are missing the door will not stay on the front of the case without falling outward and will not pivot for recessing smoothly. Also the door assemblies rest on the hinge as it glides along the tract and if missing this forces the door surface to be dragged along the top of the bearing loosening the bearing attachment, damaging the wood on the door and slowing the progress of a door that should otherwise open with great ease. Offered are 7 thumb latch door handles. I have had these for about 40 years thinking I would use them. I know this is a man's thing& I don't know a whole lot about them other than I've always liked them. I was going to list them separately but I couldn't remember what latch went to what handle. One latch is not here. There is light surface rust but I know they will clean up nicely. 3 of the handles are the same. I'm not positive but I think their Norfolk style. Wrought iron, American latch circa 1800-1820. 8 3/4" high, 1 1/2" wide. The one with the pewter handle is Norfolk style, 7 3/4" high, 1 1/4" wide, early 19th century, a piece of the pewter is gone, it looks like it happened long ago. The large side of the hinge has a slight bend, the handle rod has a slight bend also and I don't know if all of the inner workings of the lock set are there. Up for sale I have one vintage Eastlake interior door hinge made of cast iron. It is very ornate and decorative. The hinge measures 4 by 4 inches which is stamped into the back of the hinge. The hinge has been cleaned and lacquered. On the back side the hinge has been welded. And there is a hairline crack on the front side which is barely visible; therefore this item is being offered for sale at a reduced price.The hinge comes from the restoration of our 1873 Victorian house.
