5/8 x 1 1/4 Round Head Bolt Hot Dipped Galvanized steel 77 bolts with hex nuts
This is a lot of 5/8 inch X 1 1/4 Iron working bolts with nuts. They were found at the roadside. Many have minor nicks and some road tar but all are fully functional. There are 77 of the 1 1/4 inch length and 5 of the 2 inch length. These will be shipped priority flat rate as they weigh about 32 lbs. I believe these were for a highway guard rail. One of a Kind Stainless Steel Nut and Bolt Cabinet
I made this many years ago to solve an age old problem that happened to me. And probably to you, all too often. You are working on your car, it's up on jack stands, and you snap a bolt while changing something. You root around the 5 or 10 coffee cans full of nuts and bolts to find one that fits, and none do. Then have to call one of you friends to give you a ride to the hardware store, to buy one or two bolts. Well one day I decided to do something about it. I wanted to buy something to hold more than just a few nuts and bolts. But I couldn't locate anything that suited my purpose. I was at an Office Supply auction and they had 10 or so very nice Walnut veneer shelves on a pallet for not a lot of money. I figured I could use those. At the time I didn't have the necessary equipment to mill parent lumber but I did find solid Oak ... moreFlooring strips at a lumber yard that were perfect. They were 2" wide, and not very long. They came in bundles, and didn't cost an arm and a leg. At the time I worked for a Printer, and they had a Hammond Glider saw that could cut lead strips very accurately, but not very large pieces. The oak flooring was just the ticket. But the only drawback was the shelves were Walnut, and the drawers would be Oak. The plywood came in both Walnut, or Oak, but I made the decision to go with an Oak plywood carcass, Oak drawers, and Walnut shelves. As it turned out with Oak banding on the shelf edges, the Walnut contrasted nicely with the Oak. There was a company right around the corner. Harrison& Bonini that sold industrial fasteners, but I had to buy full boxes of them. I decided to get Stainless Steel even though it cost many times more than hardware fasteners. My reasoning was simple. Stainless Steel won't rust, or corrode, so they will be good pretty much forever. And it turns out, I was right.
