Up for sale is a vintage B.F. McDonald Full Brim aluminum hard hat. It is very clean. And in great condition, with only minor scratches throughout the metal(see pictures for details) It is adjustable, with a six point leather strap system. The leather is in great condition, without cracks, and the adjustment system is in great condition. The words"MSA Safety Equipment" and"Made in Canada" are printed on the leather. B.F. McDonald Co. Los Angeles C7 S" is inscribed on the bottom of the brim. The initials"IDS" are carved into the bottom of the brim. There is a small hole drilled through the front of the brim. I am not sure what the purpose is, but I would guess it is to attach a light. There is a triangle logo on the front with a lightning bolt inside. ITEM DESCRIPTION: Vintage B.F. McDonald Hard Hat Aluminum Logging C.L. Fargo Engineer Oregon This hard hat has 2 stamps on it that are faintly visible. They look like postmarks. It looks to me like they say, from top to bottom: Registered Professional- Engineer- Oregon- May 7 1949- C. L. Fargo" The date might be 1960s's instead of 1940, it is difficult to read for sure. I believe this is one of the earlier models since it says Patents Pending and only has three patent numbers instead of four like many others on eBay. Some of these sell for upwards of $70 on eBay, but have not seen one with identifying stamps like this one has. Nice used condition. Please see pictures and use zoom/close-up feature to determine if the condition is to your satisfaction. Used/vintage clothing items have not been washed.
