7.5 Hp phase converter and motor ***USA***
This auction is for a 7.5 hp Rotary style phase converter that has the motor and the converter box. The box is new and the motor has been used. The motor is a Westinghouse 7.5hp and the box was made by LC Converters. It will take an electrician to wire this in if you have never done it. My last one I put together I had my electrician wire it all in and it came out beautiful. I will box the unit up and deliver to a freight terminal for no cost but you will pay the actual shipping expense. I can send it freight collect on the shipping only as well. My guess is 250 lbs once boxed up as the motor is very heavy. I have not used this unit and the motor and capacitor box have never been connected together. See pictures for more details. Phase-A-Matic R5 Phase Converter 5HP
I've been using this for several years and it works fine. The only issue is that it occasionally starts in reverse rotation. Hasn't been a problem- I just watch which way the flywheel starts turning when I start it. And if it goes the wrong way, I shut it off and restart. I think it has something to do with the start capacitors. I believe Phase A Matic would help diagnose the problem and send a replacement capacitor if you call them, but I just got used to watching it start and it didn't seem like a problem worth fixing.
