I get it. I have built converters ... morein order to run tablesaws, jointers, compressors, lathes and milling machines. I do very simple plans drawn very easy to understand for those who do not understand schematics. I intentionally made these very simple so that a tinkerer or an engineer could figure out my plans. I was shown how to do this by a farmer and would like to pass this information on for those of you who need three phase. I have ran up to three milling machines from my converter design all at the same time. The third leg(wild leg) actually becomes stronger and more stable. The more machines you run simultaneously. Now you can get those top quality machines from schools and university auctions and put them to use! With three phase power you can instantly reverse a motor if needed(for tapping a hole for example) and you can start the motor UNDER LOAD which is something you can never do with single phase power. We have been making these for our own personal use now for years and I have personally built seven of them. Each one larger than the one before. I still have the last one I built and hang onto it incase I ever have to go back to a small shop or home situation again. If you buy my plans, I will personally help you with any questions you might have down the line as I have been doing ebay auctions since 2005 and have helped many people to figure out how to get set up with three phase power at their home shop for a lot less than a commercial converter too. Some guys choose to stay with large single phase motors like even up to 7 hp size that draw a LOT OF POWER and are very hard on capacitors and blow them. Condition: New Location: Houston, United States OK here is the history on this unit. Manufactured in 98 and sold to a commercial wood shop some where in the Nashville TN area. It was subsequently sold ... moreto General Industrial Supply in Nashville who sold it to me in 2003 to run my Haas VF3 cnc mill and my Jet lathe. This unit stayed in service in my shop until last April when I received my new Haas VF4 mill. At this time I changed over to purely digital phase convertors in my shop. I have decided that it is time to sell this unit as any further additions will also use digital phase convertors. This unit ran without complications for me and it is a heavy duty industrial design. Here is a link to Steelmans website. As many do I ran my cnc mill off of a rotary phase convertor and did so for nine years. The power balance on a rotary however is never going to be as good as digital but then the price of rotaries is FAR cheaper. 80HP equivalent max HP load in digital phase convertors would run well over $14.000.00. This is a big heavy unit and I would guess three to four hundred pounds range and will have to go motor freight. Local pickup would be good if you can manage it as I can load it at my end no problems. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS WILL COST TO SHIP AND THIS WILL HAVE TO BE CALCULATED WHEN I KNOW WHERE IT IS GOING. NOW JUST TO BE CLEAR HERE I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS WILL COST TO SHIP AND THIS WILL HAVE TO BE CALCULATED WHEN I KNOW WHERE IT IS GOING. I don't want any confusion over this and I will refuse any buyers who do not request a shipping cost before payment as I am not going to be stuck eating shipping.
