Phase-A-Matic R5 Phase Converter 5HP
I've been using this for several years and it works fine. The only issue is that it occasionally starts in reverse rotation. Hasn't been a problem- I just watch which way the flywheel starts turning when I start it. And if it goes the wrong way, I shut it off and restart. I think it has something to do with the start capacitors. I believe Phase A Matic would help diagnose the problem and send a replacement capacitor if you call them, but I just got used to watching it start and it didn't seem like a problem worth fixing. Up for bids is a nice, used, phase-a-matic, pam 1200hd static phase converter.I have owned this converter for several years,but, it does not have a lot of hours on it because it was hooked up to my large lathe in my basement shop and didn't see a lot of use. It does have a few minor scratches and dings. The only reason that I have taken it out of service is because I now have a rotary converter.
