You are bidding on an electric motor rated for 24 volts 1.99 horsepower. It originally was used by EGO Vehicles in the Ego2 electric scooter. I bought it second hand from them. Intending to build an electric vehicle with it, but never got to that. Meaning that the motor has seen little use other than to spin it with a controller a couple times to verify it works. As you see from the pictures. The motor has two pairs of leads. I simply connected the two reds to the positive terminal on the controller, the two blacks to the negative terminal, and away it went. The motor weighs 15 lbs. It's about 5" diameter and 7-8" at the end of the shaft. The shaft looks like it's 5/8"

This is a McMillian Electric 3.0hp permanent magnet DC motor from a treadmill. The specs are in the title and in the pictures. It could be used on a wind turbine project. However, be very careful to check the Volts to RPM ratio for the system you want to use it on(volts divided by RPM has to equal more than.035 in order to charge a 12Vdc system in normal wind conditions of 8-10mph to 18-20mph) No one else selling you a treadmill motor will tell you that, and unless you've really done your research you could end up buying a lot of stuff you can't use for what you want it to do. So, unless you live in a very windy area, you probably won't be able to charge a 12V system with this motor as a wind turbine You just can't spin it fast enough in a modest wind to get it to generate 12Vdc while it is connected to a load(charging battery) ... moreBut. It should work fine for a 6 volt system. What this motor will also really work great for is as a variable speed motor turning a mill or a lathe. You'll have to invest a few $$$ in a decent motor controller- but you'll find that these work great. And. If you'd like to use it as a replacement motor on a knee mill you'll only want about 3500 RPM tops anyway. I have disassembled the motor for shipping. It fits into a USPS Large Flat Rate Box and saves you big $$$ on shipping costs. Plus. You'll want the hub off anyway if you're going to fit it for wind turbine blades. Currently that is $17.45. The box weighs nearly 40lbs. If you check normal parcel post costs on that weight, you'll find it could be $70-$80 depending on your ZIP code. I Will(usually) ship within 2 business days.

The shaft is 7/8" diameter. This motor has a 184C face mount as well as well as a mounting base. There is also a tachometer mounted to the back end of the motor. I gave it a test run in my shop and it tests and runs fine. I looked at the brushes and they still have 90% of their life remaining.very little wear)The tachometer puts out 7 volts DC at 1000 rpm.
