Can handle up to 40 Amp resistive load or a 2 HP motor at 120VAC, This was used to provide a way to turn an evaporative cooler based on the time of the day. It was set to turn on the fan only during the early morning hours when the building was not occupied. During the day. Normal operation of the swamp cooler was controlled by the added switch as shown.
