The finish on the knobs is also showing wear.but I think it is just paint and they could be sanded and repainted. The stainless finish of the dispenser is in decent shape for it's age. DESCRIPTION: Patent by Charles C. McNally of Philadelphia. PA in 1929 is this"sanitary" dispenser of condiments(mustard of mayonnaise) for a restaurant. One would tip this upside down and the glass plunger would dispense the contents. I found this info relating to the embossed patent number of 1,724,721. It is 6" tall, 3" at the base, and the body has a banded barrel design. The barrel portion is about 3" x 2" There are three glass pieces. the body, stand and plunger, plus the aluminum piece. The body is about the size of a restaurant china mustard container. He states that this design is sanitary, clean and convenient. The plunger once must have had a rubber washer around it.
