The pump was set up at a factory expansion project to drain rainwater from footers in the event of overnight rains. As you can see from the pictures. It didn't rain. When the project finished, it went into storage where it has been ever since. Numerous items have been stacked on and around it which scratched the plate on top. The light patina on the bronze shows that it has been kept dry and the impeller can be easily spun by a lady using her smallest finger. The windings have been tested and approved.
