Made of brass with a glass front. There is a leveling bubble in the corner. Quality made. I have not cleaned it as I am not sure of the function and do not want to harm it. It is in good cosmetic condition, with some scuffs, scratches or magic marker traces and it's entirely possible that it was used by the men and women of The Manhattan Project(though likely after the war, since the LASL name was introduced in 1947) Prior to listing it was tested as follows: The defunct 12V NiCd battery pack was removed and the leads color coded(red for +. ANNIS CO. It is marked 5-0-5 and is in a leather carrying case that appears to have had little or no use and the meter is in the same condition. I do not know if this is the original case. But the meter fits snugly to the sides and there is about an inch of room left at the top. Also, there is a paper included that decribes the meter and gives some instructions. It was printed by R.B. Annis Co. The meter is approx. 2 1/2 inches in diameter and about 2 5/8 inches in height. The leather case is approx. 2 3/4 inches on its exterior bottom end and about 3 1/8 inches on its exterior top end. The top is wider in order to fil over the rest of the case.
