Item Description Up for bids is a nice Roper Whitney Model 5-2 Sheet Metal Punch. This items does show signs of use. But is in good condition considering its age. The rubber handle is intact and has some light dirt that could be removed with some mild detergent and water. The steel tool body is in good condition and shows some slight surface rust. I lightly cleaned the tool body and a lot of the surface rust came off easily. This tool is complete and in excellent working condition. It punches crisp, clean holes in the sheet metal it was tested on. I have owned one of these exact tools for years and it's a valuable part of my tool collection. It comes with a 9/32" punch and die. A Fine 100 Year Old Metal Punch Set. In Original Box, by WHITNEY METAL TOOL COMPANY.Working! This is patent dated. As you can see in the pictures June 24th, 1913. The 5/32 punch and 5/32 down screw is in the tool(see pics) and only 1 screw is missing from this set, the 9/32 down screw. The exterior of the box, is riddled with surface rust, but the interior still retains most of the green paint, and, as you can see, the original advertisement paper is present. This is a Roper-Whitney No. 5 Jr. punch, complete with its case, all seven punches and dies, screwdriver for changing punch sizes, and even the original instruction sheet/ parts list. There's some surface rust on the outside top of the case, so it won't look pretty unless you clean it up and paint it, should you be so inclined. The die sizes are 3/32" 1/8" 5/32" 3/16" 7/32" 1/4" and 9/32" This is a nice tool- well-designed, solid and simple to maintain.

Whitney Jr. No. 5 Punch This auction is for an antique Whitney Metal Metal Tool Co. Punch No. 5 Jr. This is the same punch that would later come to be known as Roper-Whitney. The patent is stamped for 1913. The punch is in perfect working order with all the screw to hold down the back gauge and the lever. The back gauge is straight. The locking mechanism on the front of the box works too. This is a great tool for metal and leather. Punches very clean. The only issue if you could call it that is the instructions under the inside lid are torn away. This is a Punch that was found in an old toolbox that was owned by a machinist. I really am not familiar at all with this tool. I will do my best to describe it here. The 3/16 hole is missing a part but there is one in the tool. I assume it is the missing one. Also included is a small tool with a 5.7,and 8 on each corner. Looks possibly like an adjustment tool. Roper Whitney No. 5 Jr. hand punch. All original. Includes the case. Tool change out key, instructions& all seven punches and dies: 3/32, 1/8, 5/32, 3/16, 7/32, 1/4, 9/32. The case shows a little use but the tooling and the tool were not used much. I just took out the punch changing arm knurled thumb screw and oiled the three way motion joints, and now the action is breezy and of course free of play. I'm asking for the solid price on this because the paint and the 7 sets of tooling are so nice. Not to mention again if I might that it works perfectly. Paypal only. I'll ship in one day.
