The adjustment is smooth throughout the entire range. I make my living w/Ridgid threaders, cutters, reamers& wrenches so I appreciate the quality of these tools. I don't just spray paint on everything. I mask off the places that slide& spray those places w/lube. The feed screw threads are sprayed w/dry moly lube. It’s not rusty because the cutting oil protected it but it is time to sell before the grit turns to rust. It’s always been a good cutter.
