Vintage MidCentury Flower Power Retro Clothes Hamper Storage Trash Can Container
Up for auction is this wonderful Retro Flower Power Mid Century piece of plastic. It is unmarked as to who made it but I believe it might be clothes hamper as it has breathing holes in the back. The piece is done in a yellow plastic with large 70s flower power flowers on the front with a nice scalloped lid. It measures 26” with the lid and 12” in diameter. It is in good shape for its age with no chips or breaks. It does have a little discoloring in places. Scratches and wear from use/age. The only thing I used to clean the piece was a wet rag. It might be able to be cleaned up even better with other items. It is still in very nice shape. This is a very unusual find that should not be overlooked. It features the hardened stainless steel bar and jaws(4" deep) and fine adjustment, all in very good condition. It has 0.001 inch increments on the bottom(0 to 50) and 1/50mm graduations on the top scale(0 to 10) Both vernier scales are located on the same side of the gage for inside and outside measurements. The scales are in pristine condition with an unmarred satin chrome finish, like the rest of the caliper. This is one well kept caliper, in top condition, with no personal names or ID's or marks, no wear noted, and especially not on any precision surface. It's about 99% in like-new condition! In mid 1999 I started a business selling new& used shipping containers in Fort Worth Texas to farmers and ranchers as an alternative to building a pole barn or permanent structure on their property where they would be taxed on the structure. I specialized in new one trip models considered at that time as unique and sometimes referred to as odd ball variants like. Doors on both ends, double door 20 ft. double door 40 ft. a 20 ft. European high cube 9 ft. 6 inches tall container, and steel floor 20 ft. containers. Among the new one trip models I received in late 2003, I received(2) units that were called a"Combi-tainer" they were shipped as(2) 10 ft. containers welded back to back with steel plates in between them, it equaled a standard 20 ft. in length so it would fit on the ship. After cutting the two 10 ft. containers apart I knew I had to keep one of these for myself as I needed one of these units at my lake cabin to keep items under lock and key or keep them from growing legs and walking off. By the end of the week I moved one to my lake cabin and it has been there ever since. I already sold the additional 10 ft. 6 ft. 8 ft. containers that came with the Combi-tainer units. I am no longer in the business selling shipping containers. I recently built a 30 ft. x 40 ft. metal building here at the lake and no longer have a need for this 10 ft. container so I thought I would offer it for sale. If you are local to the Dallas Fort Worth area you can come and inspect the unit if you like.
